I recently just finished watching the Holyfield Ringside, which was another good one. Anyways towards the end they mentioned that in the second Lewis/Holyfield fight a lot of people thought Holyfield won. Is that true? How did you score it?
There's no way in hell Holyfield won the second fight.
Lewis was tagging him with the jab and right hand over and over.....and Holy wasn't active enough to win more than 4 rounds in the fight at best.
Oh and this just In:
Lewis won the first fight hands down as well. That was a Robbery.

I wouldn't say Holyfield won the second fight but it was more of draw than the first fight IMO. Lewis did just enough to win the first fight but it wasn't the convincing victory that many people believe it should have been.

I thought lewis clearly won the 2nd fight although it was fairly close and holyfield seemed to have lewis in a bit of trouble at one point in the fight. I dont think lewis was in great shape that night. I still dont see how some thought holy won it tho,,,it wasnt that close
I thought Holyfield won the second fight, I don't remember how I had it scored, it's been years since I saw the fight, but I know it was close. And I thought the first fight was a clear win for Lewis.
I don't really bother with the fights between Holyfield and Lewis because Holy wasn't the same fighter. The man had been through so many wars it was incredible to see the man still standing.
You know, I always wondered if somebody could really pressure Lewis and take him out of his game (which would be to pressure him, hitting him to the body, and to nulify his jab), if he wouldn't have gassed out like the rest of the big/tall fighters.
I think a prime Holyfield might have been able to do it. I think he could of at least won 1 out 3 in his prime, like he did with Bowe.
yes, Holyfield won that second fight.
I fell on the floor when they announced Lewis the winner.
That's insane.
It was closer, but Holyfield did not win more than 5 rounds in the rematch.
Lewis still out threw and out landed Holyfield, and landed the most telling shots of the fight with his uppercut. He landed 195 shots to Holyfield's 137, and considering he threw less jabs in favor of power punhes, that stat is very telling.
Some people were swayed (too easily) because it was tighter, but it was still a fairly clear win for Lewis.
Calling it a draw would have been a stretch. A Holyfield win is just plain crazy.
yes, Holyfield won that second fight. I think they they gave it to Lewis just to make up for the first one. I hate it cause not only did they take the win from him, but maybe he would have been satisfied and retired instead of having to prolong his carrer to the point of losing to that scrub Larry Donald.
