Three-division former world champion champion Erik Morales (48-5, 34 KOs) says he plans one more fight before retiring. The future Hall of Famer, who was brutally KO'd last Saturday night by Manny Pacquiao, did not reveal a date, place or opponent for his final fight, but told the San Diego Union-Tribune, "Boxing has given me everything I have. I don't need to box anymore. It won't be difficult to walk away. I'm ready."
Some of you guys are bad match makers wanting to put Morales in with Juarez as his farewell fight. Morales is not MAB -this new versin of MAB- Morales would stand and trade with Rocky, not a good sign when going up against a puncher. And Rocky has added Ronnie Shields, so you know hes going to get better and will be a different fighter next time out, which he say will be in January or Feburary. Morales doesn't have to fight no top contender just an easy opponet and say farewell.
Rocky had his chance against Barrera and was proved to be nothing.

I would like to see Morales Vs Guzman... I know he would take that fight. All those fights sound good though.. xcluding Valero.. He is nothing to me. He would get schooled by any boxer. But Valero with MAB. I see a clinic happening in that fight.
Right now i hope that Morales Vs Diaz or Guzman takes place.
too risky for a farewell fight.
Juarez?? Juarez is a MAB left over, if he is still fighting at 130 then go for Guzman or Valero. AT 135 go for Juan Diaz.

Erik cannot make the 130 lbs limit in a healthy state, his body just won't do it.
he walks around at 160+
maybe he could very well be mayweather's tuneup fight before DLH... :ugh:
He should just retire, unless his "final fight" is in his back yard and with free admission, that's if he actually intends to retire. Now why Juarez? I think that kid has potential, why make him a stepping stone and to a fighter who is way past his prime and on his way out? Morales should rematch that black dude who just whipped him-(Zaheer Raheem)? He just wants needs a reason to convince himself that he still "has it". His plan is; If he wins it gives him momentum and he'll probably fight again and get demolished. RETIRE MORALES
I think he sould just retire, what else does he have to prove ? nothing, he will still go down as one of the best ever to lace up. If he does happen to fight again, it should be in mexico and i should have front row seats.
p.s I paid soprano
Honestly, I think Morales isnt shot.He just happened to meet a stronger, faster more powerful boxer than himself in PAC.I believe faced with any 130 pounder and Erik would probably win.........

Morales isn't "shot", no; but he's past his peak and he's only gonna go downhill from here. This fight was that moment when the truth was made known to him. He'll never be "El Terrible" again.
As far as Juarez is concerned, it would be a great opportunity for Juarez; but for Morales, it would be confirmation that he's still better than most of the pack. So, while he wouldn't be going out "on top", he'd still be going out near the top.
Exactly!
especially after his 3RD KO loss.
He will never be the same...
ala RJJ
+ the mexican Vs mex-american angle always is a big draw $^.^$
Yes, indeed. :D
But Lester does make a good point with Valero as well. Either way, I do hope it will be his last fight.
I suppose a Juarez fight does have intrigue.I just dont think Erik will appreciate the thought of picking up "MAB's leftovers". Thats why a Valero fight makes more sense for him. ;P
Though if Arum has his way, Valero maybe Pacmans leftovers by that time Erik makes his farewell fight.

I would actually like to see him with Valero.I think its perfect for the following reasons:
1.)Valero cant fight in the US so he maybe willing to go to Mexico.
2.)Valero is undeated with a belt. Not only does Erik gets to fight a good fighter, he can retire as a champ if he wins.
3.)Valero may have a good relationship with Arum which makes this fight easier to arrange.
