Interesting comments from Hatton concerning a fight with Mayweather:
Ricky Hatton remains hopeful of fighting American four-weight champion Floyd Mayweather.
Hatton will attempt to regain his IBF light welterweight crown against Juan Orango on 13 January in the States but could then line up Mayweather.
"It's a fight I would definitely want," Hatton, 28, told BBC Radio Five Live.
"I'm not scared to say he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. He has won world titles at different weights. Hopefully we can get it on."
Mayweather's trainer, his uncle Roger Mayweather, told BBC Sport earlier in the year that the fighter was interested in fighting Hatton, although not on his home soil in Manchester.
Hatton has now resolved that issue by securing a deal with TV network HBO to fight in the United States and he will take on Orango in either Las Vegas or Atlantic City next January.
However, this month Mayweather accused Hatton of demanding too much money and Hatton in turn insists that is not the case.
"He says that I've priced myself out of a fight but I wasn't even aware that I've asked for a price because my next two fights are done deals," Hatton told Sportsweek.
The Manchester fighter also suggested Mayweather, who defeated Carlos Baldomir last week to claim the WBC welterweight title, would have to raise his game if the two were to arrange a high-profile meeting in the ring.
"The way Floyd is performing, I don't think he is in a position to be demanding money," said Hatton. "His last two fights have sent me to sleep".
"He is a wonderful talent but his last fight was very boring. They carried him to the ring dressed as Russell Crowe and he ended up fighting like Sheryl Crow."

yes hatton swells but nowhere near as badly as gatti
which is no compliment, one of the easiest swellers in the fight game..hatton being just one step down from that, ive seen hatton swell up in every fight hes been in, with guys that have little to no chance at KOing him with the exception of Tszyu. Collazo isnt even a big puncher and that pic i posted up was from the fight against him.
yes because of headbutts
come on man, be real. Hatton swells like crazy from PUNCHES. Some of yall are in denial about alot of shit, evidence gets put right in your face, right from the horses mouth, and some of you still think that somehow, Hatton isnt duckin floyd, and now Hatton doesnt swell?

yes because of headbutts
thats just plain fucking stupid, i watched his face puff up alot from gloves bouncing off of his face. besides hatton wrestles more than he boxes so if it is because of headbutts he must of got butted when he tried to hit and hold
gatti cuts, swells and bruises more easily than any fighter in the sport
gatt is and was a c class fighter no more
hatton and gatti are nothing alike so mayweather vs gatti has no worth in a discussion about hatton vs mayweather
wtf, and hatton don't swell? didn't he have to have surgery on his face from how swells or cuts?
and floyd doesn't ?
the difference...and this is pretty much a fact, is that floyd doesnt run his mouth about opponents he has no real intention of fighting. You wanna make a name for yourself in america..you DONT run your mouth about one of our best fighters, and show no real intention of even getting in the ring with him.
I mean think about it, if you have a friend who constantly runs his mouth about a guy who he thinks he can beat in a fight, yet when the oppurtunity rolls around, he always has a fuckin excuse, how would you view that? Im very objective, and after all the evidence presented, weather you guys like it or not, Hatton indirectly is ducking floyd through tactics such as pricing himself out, or taking other bullshit fights like Urango, and moving DOWN to 140.
I dont wanna hear that shit about "oh he just knows 147 isnt for him right now" how the fuck can you not move up ONE FUCKING DIVISION..ONE DIVISION, what fucking great fighter couldnt move up one division? Floyd has come up from 130 and you telling me Hatton is so godly he cant even go up 7 lbs and stay there? Come on man.
Im tired of this guy, hes looking more and more like a guy whos using shit like this as a distraction for his own bullshit fights. Even that sheyrl crow comment didint make me laugh because i know who its coming from, you cant talk that shit and then never act on it, i dont look highly upon it.
When Floyd runs his mouth about a fighter, you know damn well hed get in the ring with him, I cant say the same about Hatton, and i dont respect that, thats NOT how your gonna make a name for yourself out here.
Hatton shouldn't be talking because he manages his career the same way that Floyd does. Urango might as well be coming off of a loss if you saw his last fight (which he lost to Ben-Rabah; awful scoring) and his performances against Maussa and Collazo were less than inspiring. He can't keep living off reputation gained in the KT fight considering that it happened over 2 years ago now. Hatton looked really good in that fight, it is a shame he couldn't carry that momentum into more meaningful fights.
I'll tell u why PBF wouldn't be that interested, MAYWEATHER HASN'T BEEN BEAT. Hatton this & Hatton.... that has got to be an indication that your opinion isn't based on the skill & recent performance level of these fighters, right?? Hatton fought this dude not but a few months ago & looked horrible for a guy calling out Pretty Bwoy. On the other hand, on this very site, tons of people had been calling for Floyds defeat @ the hands of their then favorite Baldomir. Since that fight happened I haven't heard NAAAAN from nery a one of them. Why down a fighter cuz he's THE BEST (proven in each performance) & then in the same breath, credit a fighter who was touted as the next best thing, until he got handled & struggled against fighters that are barely recognized. It must be a European Thang...... Now Can U Dig Dat?!?!??:boxing:
He wasn't running from Mayweather. He realized after the Collazo fight that 147 wasn't the best weight for him and he wasn't as strong.
Yeah ok?? Like I said before, you don't ask for those kind of numbers if you really want to fight the person. After that fight where he got his bell rung like Big Ben, he knew the big boys at 147 would've stopped him if they had that opportunity.
So I guess asking for 13 mil isn't pricing yourself out of a fight when Mayweather hasn't earned that much right? I tired of the talk of him wanting to fight Mayweather. Seeing is believing & if he really wanted to make the fight with Mayweather, he wouldn't have run back down to 140 after Collazo.

Now that shit is funny!!! I myself am not interested in ever buying a PPV from Mayweather, unless his opponent is worth watching. Mayweather is boring and dances for the last 30 seconds of his fights with his hands raised like a little bitch.
Then he has the audasity to say " I am a warrior, a gladiator"...... I completely agree with Hatton, Mayweather is extremely talented but he is also boring.

I'd have to say both of their last fights were lackluster, so I don't see why Hatton is talking shit, besides the fact that I thought the Judah fight was very entertaining, & it's in no way Mayweather's fault that Baldomir wasn't the challenge everyone thought he would be(admit it). Hatton could talk all the shit he wants, but I think we all know that Mayweather would blow him away, even though some might be in denial Baldomir was the champ & had serious strength but PBF was just dodging every shot like it was nothing(with a broken hand after 6 he still won no less then 11 rounds easy), some motherfuckers still refuse to give credit where credit is due, & I honestly believe Hatton is the last person who should be talking shit.
tszyu landed plenty of shots on hatton and even if the wern't perfect shots they were still harder than anything floyd could throw
it difference between some and a clear right straight right.
at 140 Floyd swallon Gatti eyes and everybody knows who is Gatti is.
Floyd coyld easliy dominate Hatton
who had hatton beat to show he could beat KT
its about getting given a chance and hatton is refusin to
well he tottaly outboxed and outpointed vince phillips the man who beat tszyu
by tko and then straight after that he tko's micky ward
Urango does not hold the 140 championship. He has a paper title. Everyone knows Witter is the toughest guy at 140 right now and has been calling Hatton out. No response from Hatton, as usual. Hatton never responded to Floyd talking about fighting him until Floyd was at 147. Hatton has a big mouth, but is a punk when it comes to backing it up.
and floyd doesn't ?
