De La Hoya/Mayweather fight not happening

Yesterday afternoon ********** received a call from six division champion Oscar De La Hoya, who once again, provides our readers with a must read exclusive that you're going to have to read to believe. De La Hoya doesn't seem all that interested in fighting Mayweather anymore, and it has nothing to do with Mayweather's showing, because get this, Oscar didn't even see the fight. Put simply, De La Hoya is no longer, "feeling the Mayweather fight", so much so that his offer to Mayweather has apparently been cut in half. De La Hoya also guarantees that he will be fighting on May 5, 2007 and although he doesn't know who is opponent will be yet, he plans to once again, discuss with Don King, the possibility of a rematch with Felix Trinidad. the thing is about margarito is that what happend with baldomir could happen if floyd fights margarito..easily, if he wins, in dominating fashion and margarito endsup having a shit career, that hurts, just ONE tested fight and margarito could elevate himself, but man, i mean, at some point floyd should be in a superfight and margarito IS NOT a superfight. hatton is...cotto is...but i mean..what can you do?

Margarito should be fighting Cotto thats who he should be fighting. Its sad that Cotto who is new to the division is taking on tougher Comp than Marg is. Back to back #10's is pathetic. thats a good fight too, I don't mind seeing that fight, but Margarito has been fighting for 12+ years, he is a world champ, he is due a big fight against a big named fighter. 12+ years as a pro, now if some of you have not heard of him, well then that speaks for your boxing knowledge, but then again I am from the champions mecca of boxing Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico

He might be a strong Welter who is decent but the fact remains Marg has yet to test himself in the ring and is just not a big fight. There are bigger fights for Floyd to take and make. Floyd vs Oscar is the BIGGEST fight in boxing. That is the main difference but people for some reason fail to see this. you have to earn the big cheese, and Oscar IS IT. floyd has to earn it, first. snoozefest fights will not do it.

I think Floyd deserves to fight Oscar because he is considered the best fighter in the sport. Margarito deserves to fight Mayweather because he is considered the second best welterweight out there and some would even say Margarito is the best welterweight right now because he's been destroying everyone he's faced for years. How does the top contender not deserve to fight the champion? He might be a strong Welter who is decent but the fact remains Marg has yet to test himself in the ring and is just not a big fight. true.. seems like the public can accept dlh saying "im just not feeling it" and not accusing him of DUCKING, but let mayweather say that and its a diffrent story Exactly. Fans (myself included, 'cause I hate Floyd, but I try to be fair) need to realize that ducking is a part of the sport. As a boxer, you have to make decisions based on what is going to earn you money, and get as close to a "sure win" as possible. There's really nothing wrong with it; its part of the game. What I have a problem with is boxers DOING it and SAYING they aren't doing it. If someone just "isn't feeling it," thats fine. Just say it. Don't hate one guy for doing it and then cheer on another (unless he did what DLH did and say it outright.)

For the harshest of critics, isn't this a basic mirror image of Floyd's episode with Margarito? "Why does he deserve it" and etc.? Only difference is, Margarito deserves a shot at Floyd, Floyd doesn't necessarily deserve a shot at Oscar. WHOA.
