So who's next for BALCO Briggs? I'd like to see him fight the WBO #1 contender Sultan Ibragimov or WBA champ Nicolay Valuev. Briggs vs Klitschko would be a nice fight if Shelly Finkle would allow it.
first of all the briggs/lyakovich fight was so bad it was painful to even admit I was right, I did pick Briggs by KO but in a fight that was going to be a 5 round slugfest, not a 12 round sleepy festival of yawns. but anyway, briggs will KO sultan if they fight, sultan couldn't even get inside on ray austin.
briggs/holyfield IMO would be the best fight to make because regardless of popular opinion I think Holyfield is going to look good in his next fights, proving his shoulder was really the cause of him looking so old. Holyfield wins that by KO in the middle rounds. If not Holyfield briggs should look to fight any of the current HW champs, or hold the belt long enough to fight Toney after Toney beats Peter and then Maskaev, but briggs will likely have already lost the belt by then.
are you only going on what briggs said happened? i remember reading something about that fight months ago and what went wrong with it. and, not surprisingly, it was completely contradictory to what briggs said after his fight with sergei. i also have to take into account that briggs is now one of don king's pawns.
i'll try to dig up the article or interview.
Briggs doesnt work for DKP bro, he works for Scott Hirsch.
I'd like to see Briggs-Ibragimov for the shear fact that I can't stand Ibragimov and think Briggs would KO by the 4th round. But if a fight against klitschko can be made, I would rather see that one.

for some reason I'd love to seem him against valuev. that would be interesting. valuev would probably wear him down and stop him
what a pity if Holyfield beats both Oquendo and briggs.
that means boxing backwards,
it only suit for old man.
Agreed.
Holyfield-Briggs would be one of the most disgraceful title fights ever. You know what it would say? If you want a title shot, ti doesn't matter what your record is or what you've done RECENTLY, all you have to do is beat an insurance salesman and then a perennial journeyman! Come on.
Who would buy this???
Oh, nevermind, Fox Sports Net would fall all over themselves to broadcast this joke on PPV. The undercard will feature David Tua vs. Michael Moorer II. What a great card...in 1997.
I heard a rumor that if Holyfield beats Oquendo this weekend, he fights Briggs in his first defense. If Holy is able to get past Oquendo, I say he becomes 5 time HW champ - KOing Briggs in the mid rounds.
Yes, Holyfield is past his prime. On the other hand, he's still one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the division, even at 44.

Wlad would knock him out in 2.
