Floyd's record

A win over a guy who never loss doesn't mean you beat a great fighter, in fact, it usually means you beat someone who has yet to be tested. Those undefeated guys Cotto beat, what exactly have they accomplished?

Mayweather is good, but he's getting old, he's getting the old fighter syndrome, throwing one punch at a time. I was floyd i'd be fighting more regularly because he's not looking that sharp, and part of it is do to his long lay offs. LOL! thats a mayweather hater if i could see one. :lol1: floyd doesnt need to punch frequently coz its all connecting. thats the economy of punching working for him, doesnt need to do much, enough to send someone to school. if you want the razzle dazzle of punching go watch pacquiao :lol1:

This 'lb4lb' should be based on skill. Why was Tyson lb4lb #1 in '86, Jones Jr a lb4lber in '92, and Toney lb4lb #2 (having not been in the top 10 ever before) after beating a Barkley who had long fallen to pieces? Skill. I agree on the point that if he fought more regularly there would be more combinations and longer exchanges in his fights. But he can't because when he fights it's an event, a big show, ppv, etc. He's at the point where he can't be fighting tune-ups. It's just all big fights. And they're gonna be about twice a year. Plus, this isn't the UFC. It's the sweet science and he's giving people toothaches with his defensive masteries (don't think that's a word but we'll go with) of his opponents. In the end it's boxing not bare-knuckle street fighting. If his fights were events people wouldn't be leaving. And floyd would have put on more of a show especially in the last round. Floyd makes a borring fight because he is starting to throw one punch at a time, does he forget that he can double up on the jab, or trip, or quatripple the jab? Floyd can fight more then 2 times a year, example: the Great Julio Cesar Chavez would fight more then 2 times a year, so don't tell me how Floyd can't fight more then he does. If/when he finally fights Margarito, Floyd ain't going to be ready for what Margarito brings to the table. When a fighter is so dominate, i applaud him, but please! Don't forget to THROW SOME PUNCHS! Especially in combinations.

I never get tired of watching Mayweather embarrass Corrales. Chico and Castillo were both solid wins. His resume from light welter on up is not impressive to me though. Even if he beats DLH I wont be that impressed. DLH might not even be in the top 10 as far as the best welter/light middles are. Hes just a name. Either way he will come back out of retirement eventually because Quintana, Williams, Cotto, Margarito etc. will all be here for a while, and someboyd will emerge as the best of those. Only in the rematch was Castillo a solid win for Mayweather. There are still many out there, myself included, who think Castillo won the first fight against Mayweather.

You're an idiot. Chico was undefeated when Floyd totally bitched him. Floyd has fought much tougher opposition than Cotto will ever dream of. Once you start to look at Cottos record then you start to see he's fought some tough competition. If Cotto wanted too, imo, he could box all his opponets he's faced so far and win easily. You've got me there, I can't dig back into Cotto's career because I've only been following him for roughly a year and a half. However you can't take away the fact that Floyd has more top-notch guys on his record than Cotto. That said I think Cotto has all the ability he needs to become great, if he can get past Quintana. Which I don't think he will.

Mayweather's win/loss record against top level opponents is better than anybody else in the sport. Wright may fight better competition, but he doesn't win them all.
