I didn't see this but it was discussed heavily by the British commentary team that Jay Nady during his pre fight instructions in PBF's dressing gave him some serious nut hugging?
Apparently he told Floyd that it was an 'Honour and privilege to referee such a great champion' etc etc.
Can anyone confirm this?
If so what do you think as this is not acceptable, referees have to be impartial and unbiased, in most other sports this may have been enough to call a no contest or end the game and I'm sure Baldomir's team would have had something to say if the fight ended controversially!
This is no reflection on PBF who deserved his win but Nady needs to be looked at very closely!

yeah i was watchin the british 1 threw a stream and i heard that also. sounded like some scotish guy also
Seriously, you obviously did not understand the original fucking post!
What Nady should have done is his job, what that means is to enter both the boxers dressing rooms and explain the rules of the governing bodies and lay down his personal preferences in the running of the fight not deviate at all from those guidelines and certainly not express any form of favoritism in any way to any of the fighters.
Now explain how this is a dumb post???
Unless of course you do not either understand the post or the rules and etiquette involved in presenting pre fight instructions?
Oh, I thought you said that mayweather was sucking up to Nady lmfao.
Watch De la Hoya-Mayorga and you can see the same obsequious attitude from Nady, this time in the ring.
There's a weird moment where he warns both fighters about rabbit punches when Mayorga just threw some. Later, when you realize he thinks DLH is the boss, it makes sense. He's telling DLH : I just warned Mayorga about rabbit punches.
When DLH head butts Mayorga, the first thing Nady does after examining it, is go over to DLH and report there’s no cut.
I didn't see any calls that looked biased but the appearance was really that he thought DLH was the boss in the ring. Maybe he's just a fan.

Wow that is dumb, referees are supposed to be paid not be startruck yet there was on his knees like others on other sites.

I like Nady's habit of enforcing the rules, especially the rule about holding. (John Ruiz doesn't seem to like that rule.) However Nady has some habits that need to be addressed, like excessive babbling at the fighters why they are engaged. The only time a ref should be talking to them is when he is standing between them.
Creating an appearance of a conflict of interest must be something new.
how did tszyu/judah get stopped early?
judah got dropped , got up and fell again from the same punch in the unified rules of boxing that is a utomatic stoppage , he was doing wat he was paid to doo
Right, he was correct with the stoppage.
i understand what your saying, but all he said is that its an honor to be doing his job in a title fight of this stature, i dont think there is anything wrong with that, if he told DLH that..or ALI that..etc i dont think its that big of a deal, if the bias doesnt show in the ring, then its not such a big deal.
OK, he still shouldn't have done because he then should have passed similar sentiments for Baldomir which he apparently didn't!
Of course it was an honour for him but at that time he was exercising his rights as a referee not as a fan and therefore should have acted professionally and just did his job and let Floyd know he was the man in charge!
After the fight he can say what he wants but not in any part of the actual fight which includes the very important referees instructions!

Well i guess if he wants to be a FLOYD fan thats his choice.. BUT as a ref he should not HAVE expressed his feelings.. It made it worse that everytime BALDOMIR got in close NADY warned HIM.. not Floyd who leans forward with the back of his exposed.. and if thats HIS defence he should be fair game.. NADY is a fucking nuthugger and I am surpised he didnt start giving Floyd a hand job while he was explaining the rules..
I think Nady is a decent referee but as a referee you have to be 100% impartial regardless of your personal preferences, as I said before in other sports this is not accepted.
I remember a football match (soccer) were the referee applauded a great goal, he was heavily punished for this and rightly so because referees have to be impartial otherwise it make the sport look 'influenced'.
Boxing has a bad enough reputation as it is without adding any more needless gossip or controversy to it!

true, but he could've let it go another round, there was no time left in the round. judah had more than a minute to recoup, a minute and ten seconds. being there i wanted it to go on longer, it is shitty to pay for tix and get fuck hole for a main event.
but i liked the fact that judah lost and the way he lost, but i wanted to see more, same with the rest of the world.
plus i've seen nady stop plenty of fights premature, mostly local fights here in vegas, but he's done it quite a bit. nothing really wrong with him looking out for the fighter but at the same time it can really hurt a guys career with a early stoppage when he never gets a chance to fight through and get out of the situation, but none the less its a judgement call and that is final about 99% of the time.
NO HE COULDN'T.. the rules are the rules... ZAB fell 2wice.. fights over..
At no point did Nady show any particular bias to floyd in the ring, which is where it matters, this is really alot of nit picking because the fight ended in a one sided beatdown so it kind of doesnt matter.
Your missing the point, this is not about Floyd who was very good this is about Nady!
IF the fight had ended close and say Nady had taken a point away from Baldomir for whatever reason then the arguments would have started, cant you understand that?
nady is on the up and up, he has his bad points and he has his good points. the only thing that i don't care for about nady is that he likes to stop the action alot and doesn't let fighters fight on the inside. sometimes i think HE thinks that the people in the stands are there to see him and not the fight, that and he has a tendency to stop some fights premature i.e. judah-tszyu. other than that he's ok.
i don't see anything wrong with showing some verbal respect to floyd, only as long as he called a fair fight and didn't ref the fight in a bias manner. i thought he was ok.
i'm just glad i got to see the fight even though it was blacked out on ppv in vegas.

What was Nady supposed to do? Tell Mayweather to shut up? Seriously, this is a pretty dumb post.
