Baldomir will win on points through superior aggression and awkward style and timing. He is able to time quicker opponents, hit them, and move out of range and make them miss because their equilibrium has been thrown off by his heavy punching. You'd think Zab Judah, who is just as quick as Mayweather if not quicker, would have no problem hitting Baldomir and that wasn't the case.
I think Baldomir takes this, but not by knockout. I don't see him catching up to a retreating Mayweather to finish him, but he will certainly win rounds by chasing him and occasionally hurting him.
:haha::haha::haha::haha:
I love the detailed analysis and the assuredness. prediction threads are the best threads to rehash.... very entertaining to read the posts.
funny how leading up to the fight everyone said baldomir would destroy mayweather, i bet you were one of those morons weren't you?
damn everyone thought baldomir was gonna destroy floyd!@@@@@@222
regardless of how it goes down, whether it's a lopsided landslide, a boxing clinic or an all out war, there's just no way I see Baldomir winning this. I'll go with Floyd by UD.
i think mayweather will win an easy decision, 118-110 style
baldomir is the boxing fans sweetheart and i respect him for earning the title the hard way, but i for one am not impressed by his victories over gatti and judah as much as i am by floyds...
baldomir wont be able to wear down/chase down/beat down floyd, i dont care if the fight were 20 rounds... baldomir is gonn a have a hard time scoring and it'll be interesting to see how he adapts to floyds unique abilities.. if he doesent it could be a late round TKO
If Baldomir wins, you better believe this is bigger than Tyson-Douglas. I don't care what the odds are. 42-1 was ridiculous anyway, no matter who is fighting. Mayweather is the best fighter on the planet. Baldomir is a virtual nobody.
I agree he came out of nowhere with his upset wins over Judah and Gatti. I'm picking the UPSET OF THE YEAR HERE. This will be a closer fight then most people think.

I see I'm in the minority. I think the real Mayweather will show up, but I have a bet that he won't win by KO, unless he breaks his hand. Anyway, I hope the real Mayweather doesn't show up and Baldomir kicks his ass.....
baldomir has proven me wrong on two occasions. hes pulled off the two biggest upsets of this year so far and im not counting him out just yet. but if he does beat floyd, it will be the biggest upset since douglas/tyson.
however, floyd is nothing like what baldy has faced before. judah wasnt focused, gatti was too small, but floyd has the real speed, agility, and concentration to actually outbox baldomir. but then again, baldy could just keep bombing away with that right hand of his on the naturally smaller floyd. this fight looks like floyd/castillo again.
if baldy wins, it will count as an upset. the same could not be said if floyd wins. baldy is once again the underdog, but hes beaten huge odds twice this year alone, so im not counting him out.
im torn between two outcomes: The Upset (baldy wins), What's Expected (floyd wins).
but im gonna go with floyd. he is after all the p4p best in the world and he has the tools to beat anybody in his weight division.
floyd by UD.... but another upset is not out of the question IMO.
baldomir by shocking upset knock out.
man imagine if that prediction comes true....i personally would be shocked as hell....wouldn't mind seeing it.....
Damn! I just watched Countdown to Mayweather/Baldomir on HBO and I got real amped for this fight. I have the highest respect for Baldomir, hell, I was in the Garden when he beat Judah, and at the odds he is getting a bet might be too hard to pass up-- But despite all this, conventional wisdom says Floyd boxes him and stays on his horse winning a UD and looking for twelve rounds how Judah looked for six against Tata.
I hope Floyd doesn't go in there thinking he can hurt Baldomir and leave him on the canvas cuz that could get him in trouble. I hope he's just talking to hype the fight.
I hope Floyd goes toe to toe with him to prove something to his fans thus turning the fight into a brawl. That will give Baldomir his best chance to knock Floyd on his ass and subsequently finish him off.
Zab doesn't have the boxing smarts and defense that Floyd has. Baldomir will not be embarassed, but Floyd should will win a decision. I'd be suprised if Baldomir was sent backwards, since all he does is come forward. I hope Floyd doesn't go in there thinking he can hurt Baldomir and leave him on the canvas cuz that could get him in trouble. I hope he's just talking to hype the fight.
i dont think ne1 can count out baldi , we gave him no chance against judah and he comes through , we gave him no chance against gatti and he knocks him out , i believe everybody should keep talk of a domination to themselves so we dont look foolish once again if baldi overcomes the odds
I think this fight is going to be as bad as the Gatti fight. I predict PBF comes out and makes Baldi look like a C fighter. Mid round stop by Ref. Say round 6 or 7.
Anyone who thinks Baldomir is a bum after back to back wins over Gatti (who is underrated) and Judah is just plain blind or a hater. Baldomir is the champion at 147 and if Mayweathers beats him he will be champion.
Also Diego, leave it to you to bring up the Peter-Toney fight which Peter won BTW so even if I was incorrect on the victory, I still picked the right guy. I wouldn't boast too loudly when your man lost. Also I was right that Peter hurt Toney worse than anyone had in years. If he was a little quicker and more aggressive, he could have finished Toney when he had him stumbling around. Peter had the power to knock Toney out but seems to have the killer instinct of a kitten in that fight. I don't know what his problem was, showing up at 260 and not turning up the heat when he had Toney hurt. Very foolish.
did Toney really lose a fight in which he won at least 8 rounds? I don't think so. you keep telling yourself Peter won. whatever makes you feel smart. :owned:
