I watched the Valuev-Barrett fight 3 times, and yeah, it was painful to do, but I had to see something and be sure of what I saw.
I gave gave Barrett 2-6 and Valuev the rest. I thought that in 2-6, as few as they were, Barrett's punches were cleaner and he was making Valuev miss. I won'targue if you saw it differently.
That said, I still don't understand why no one sees what I see. If you want to beat Valuev, the body is the key. He's huge, but he has a VERY soft midsection. Everyone tries to take him out to the head, even though it's plain to anyone with eyes that his skull is armor plated, not t mention the fact that trying to punch a foot and a half upwards is going to drain you very fast.
Valuev's punches are slow and too infrequent. Step to the left or right of his jab, one-two hard to the body, step inside the slow right that's coming, short double left to the body, step around and keep him turning.
i think that if yer gonna beat Valuev you gotta do it by decision. fight in spurts.
come in with head movment and press with the jab to get him goin backward. double the jab up top and shoot a straight right to the body. then circle around. doin the defense thing a lil bit. slip jabs and right hands and counter him when you do. just be sure not to stay there after you punch. get your shots in and leave. ANYBODY has faster feet than Valuev, so it should be so hard to ciclr around him and fight in spurts. jsut pick yer shots
valuev hasn't fought really any decent top ten fighters yet. something i have noticed from the half dozen fights i've seen of his - he can punch with decent power in the first round or two, but after that he doesn't seem to throw nearly as hard or nearly as often. of course someone his size will definitely have to keep his stamina tightly gaurded, but a good active boxer shouldn't have a more difficult time with him than any other top ten fighter. his tightly gaurded stamina, making him have to limit his activity, should be taken advantage of.
he also lost to larry donald*.
*remember the bullshit decision? i still refuse say valuev won that fight. a draw would be more appropriate than a valuev victory. i even scored that fight myself.
That pic in your sig, did u see her pic now with a daughter?
Yeah I've seen this picture on a magazine cover (National Geographic?)
do you have a picture of this woman with her daughter?

then why doesnt your stupid ass get in that ring and do it yourself...see if you can last atleast 2 seconds...
BWA HA HA HA HA HA !!! L..M..A..O... !!
I don't think so he was fough decent guys guys who have had good careers after they lost to valuev. Granted non are world beaters but they are guys who know how to fight and win. it bothers me that people give him no credit for his wins. granted all his opponents were there to loose but that does not make them bad or weak fighters.
Yeah, but this is a guy who is 45-0, he should be fighting all A fighters.

Step to the left or right of his jab, one-two hard to the body, step inside the slow right that's coming, short double left to the body, step around and keep him turning.YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT...Valuev is not a quality boxer, he has basic skills and a NEANDERTHAL.....dont go to that beachball size head, work this loser to the body and slip his slow punches...this guy isnt a boxer he is a chromagdon!!! he is a disgrace to all those who have entered the ring with any talent whatsoever, cant wait till he fights Klitchko or other heavyweights who can fight..btw...my props to Barrett but he didnt fight a smart fight...chop down the fuckin oak tree...its the only way...pick any of the top ten heavy's from the eighties and Valuev cant shine their shoes.....
It is hard to beat him because its like putting Morales in the ring with Brewster... Or like Pacman with Oleg... The weight and height differences are stupid.
I'm not sayin but i'm just sayinhttp://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/pictures/g/georgesteele/14.jpghttp://www.boxen.com/upload/Topthema_B_King_Valuev.jpg
when somebody 7'3 330 leans on your all fight long your going to be tire..then his head is like a saint bernard's so your punches wont effect him much when your tired..3rd he's heavy handed eventhough he dosent have speed to make the punch devastitng..like somebody said earlier..i say klitchko peter brewster could probably have a shot
He does not get credit for Donald or Ruiz because he clearly LOST. Those were his best opponents, as far as I know.I will say that donald clearly won but not ruiz that, was a close fight to me anyway.
Its the quality of opponents that is the factor...he has such a padded record, its rediculous.

You might be absolutely right but i think the real problem is that almost no fighter in the heavyweight division has the conditioning, or ability to give a hard no clinching 12 rounds. As soon as u clinch with valuev (328 lbs) its over because of all that weight weighing u down. Thats one of the reasons i would call the heavyweight division a poor division.
I'm not so sure he has a soft body. Any guy that size with a head that big is going to have an immensely strong bone structure to match. He probably has ribs the size of a cow's. He may look soft in the gut but I have a feeling he won't be so easy to hurt there.
The guys with the best chances to beat him in this division are Wlad and Peter. Perhaps Sergei has the durability, power, and quick handedness to take him out in the mid rounds.
One thing is for sure, he is an exhausting guy to fight with all that weight and strength on his size. Smaller guys with better stamina are going to tire before he does. You know, Jess Willard held the same advantage many years ago. It's tiring just to clinch with these giants.
I think higher of Valuev than many people here, which is strange because I'm usually the last guy to admit that size can win a fight. I think he will win his next three or four fights, beat guys of Briggs's and Maskaev's caliber, but then get stopped by a Wlad, Brewster, or Peter.
Valuev is a big strong man who has no talent for boxing. However, he trains hard and gives every fight is best effort, like a professional should. The reason he wins is because he is facing bums like Barrett who do not have his level of professionalism. There are any number of ways to beat Valuev, once Valuev is forced to defend his title against a true professional it will soon become apparent to everybody how easily he can be beaten.
like any other fan with any other boxer, you can always "see" SOMETHING....every fighter sees something until they get into that ring...
Barrett's plan was the body, and he tried, but he had a hard time getting to Valuev's body...it all changes when you actually get in there...
What "I See" is that a boxer who moves left and right all night/jump in and out (similar to Casamayor when he is on his rhythm) would avoid a lot from Valuev and beat him...
we can all "see" something and think that it would work 100% of the time, however when the fighters get in that ring, it changes when you get hit or depending on what your opponent does differently

Very simple andwers to this my friend.. 1st reason being Donk King.. Donald and Ruiz were robbed.. and I am sure DK's millions had something to do with that.. 2nd reason ,Who the hell are Beck and barrett.??? already washed up never has beens.. Valuev will fall the 1st real contender he meets.. i.e.. Wlad , Brewster, Liakhovich even Briggs
