Adamek-Briggs 2: Top 3 FOTY in 06

I thought Briggs won, he landed the cleaner effective punches. It was a great close fight. Briggs landed a great stiff right hand that dropped Adamek in the first round. Adamek showed great heart in the 12th by going all out with like 119 punches. Awesome!

Good fight from what I saw........I was watching Showtime when that fight was on for the most part...........I will watch the replay though.

I had it 114-112 for Briggs. A lot of rounds were REALLY close though, so it wouldn't take much to swing it the other way... close yes, but still....Briggs landed the cleaner harder punches...most of Adamek's punches either hit air or hit Brigg's defence!!!.... Briggs won that fight imo.........

i still would have like briggs to get that title...i reckon he did the better job this time but the polish fans must have swayed the judges.....reminds me of germany when the crowd just cheers for anything!!.. i reckon briggs is a top fighter and worthy of a title! The WBC and Illinois State Athletic Commission figure to make money off Adamek. That is what sways judges. Anyway Briggs and Adamek will fight again.

but will adamek be crazy enough to fight him again? they've already done it twice for 2 majority decisions to adamek. whats the incentive for adamek? another 3 days in hospital like after the first fight? i think briggs represents too much risk for not enough reward. can anyone post a link to the fight? The incentive is he'll make more money fighting Briggs again than anybody else and even if he lost it wouldn't neccessarily hurt his career so long as the fight took the form of the first two. Who else is at Light Heavyweight? I wouldn't mind seeing either Adamek or Briggs fight an Antonio Tarver, see if he can feignt his way through 12 rounds trying to land counter left hooks against the likes of tough guys with sound fundamentals and high workrates like Briggs and Adamek. And yeah, that fight definitely could have gone either way, actually I think Briggs was probably ahead by a slim margin but eh, close descisions, both guys forwarded their career bigtime regardless which is more important than the technical outcome of the fight or that belt in my opinion.

....Definitely one of the fights of the year. What a war.
