Who watched this fight ?
I didnt. :grr:
I read that Donaire could not continue after the 6th round due to a broken jaw. I read it was either from a headbutt, elbow and "NOT" a punch. Someone give the low down on this fight. Darchinyan was well on his way to KO'ing this guy.
Hey Vanes, wasnt that you and your friend's telivised in the crowd on Showtime last night at the fight? I'm sure it was as I remember you from the recent pictures you posted. Congrats on your friends win and I look forward to anymore pics you want to post and Vic fighting Arce.
Thanks buddy.
Ya it was us with the Armenian flags. It was a great nite minus the boring show Corrales and Casamayor put on. I lost money on that fight thinking it wouldnt last the 12 rounds.

They are both in Vegas, drinking prolly...
you my friend are correct :D
we had a private party at a restaurant in Vegas last night with live singers and all. VIC was real happy and felt good. (ill post some pics soon if you guys would like)
My friends and I took a cake for the after party with VICs picture on it and it read " And Still Undefeated World Champion - 27-0 - VIC DARCHINYAN"
ya, thats how confident we were on the win.
And its too bad that Donaire had to quit like that and make excuses. It was clear there was no head-butt or elbow, VIC dont fight like that, he doesnt need that to win.
Donaire simply QUIT, and an official protest has been put in by Team Darchinyan to the Nevada State Athletic Commision to change the ruling to KO or TKO.
THANK YOU ALL FOR THE LUV AND SUPPORT AND KIND WORDS.
Lets make DARCHINYAN vs. ARCE happen in 2007. We all know there WONT be a QUITTER in that fight and we will see a FOTY>
ARMENIAN PRIDE babyyy!!!
Thats our First EVER WORLD CHAMPION... other being Arthur Abraham.

I tought for sure donaire was going to do better then that last time I seen him on showtime he did pretty good So I tought this was going to be a real good fight but i guess I was wrong! Bring on Arce VS Darchinyan. Arce allready said he would fight him a couple days ago on HBO so lets do this!
Yeah I saw this fight. Donaire is a quitter, plain and simple. Turning his back after eating acouple clean shots and waving it off. That was saying No Mas. The bullshit about being headbutt, um, they musta replayed the part where he quit like 4 times. Did you at all see a headbutt at any point in there? NO. It was like 3 or 4 clean shots landed by Vic and one final shot to the jaw right before he turned and walked. Vic ate him alive. Donaire had absolutely nothing on him and had no idea what the heck he was doing. Vic may be 1 dimensional and his style is odd, he has a Naseem Hamed way of holding up his hands or moving them around to confuse and disorient his opponent. He'll pretend he's throwing a jab though leap in with the straight left, or throw a right hook off a jab. His punches are bizarre and Donaire had no clue what the hell was coming and ate each one. Did Vic even miss 1 straight left on the guy? Everyone he threw landed. It was gonna be a KO sooner or later. I loved how Vic at the end complained that he wants Showtime to review the tape and go back and say it's a KO win for his record. This guy's so cocky and confident, it's great. Based on that alone I'd pick him over Arce. He's got too much power I think.
It really didn't happen from a headbutt... They were just throwing shots at each other in the 6th round and out of no where Donaire says "I have a broken jaw I can't continue, I quit." I really believe it was a cop out from the clean hard shots that Vic was throwing.
Yah. I really wanna see this fight.
Maybe Vics power did break his jaw though, dunno.
Surprised Donaire went past 4 rounds.

There was no headbutt at all it should have been a tko,Donaire was getting quite a bad beating,Vic carries alot of power for a flyweight,i want to see him fight Arce, that would be FOTY,i think Vic would win
I was thinking he quit as well. When the doctor was checking him out, didn't he mention that it hurt on the left side of his face. Afterwards, he had the ice bag on his right side?
i also think that it wasn't that serious, maybe he figured he won't win anyway so it better be this way than losing so badly.
i think his younger brother, nonito, jr will have a better boxing career than this "quitter"
The younger Donaire is taller and fights at SuperFly. Only has one loss--in his second career outing-- and hasn't lost since.
But he has not been meeting opposition that can get anyone wildly optimistic yet. I think he should rachet up the quality of his opposition.
Although he and Glen had an identical KO record of 9 stoppages in 16 wins before Glen met Darchinyan, I think Nonito has the bigger punch. He won over Iido Julio and Kahren Harutyunyan by UD,but he KD'd both on the way to winning. And that 2nd round KO of Kaichon Sor Vorapin in Guam for the WBO Pacific Fly title was simply wicked. 6 of his 9 stoppages were either in the first or the second round.
After two or three more outings, he should be made to face tougher foes. Once he does face the better ones, we'll get to have an idea whether he has the better heart.
Good to see ya buddy!

Yeah, t'was clearly a cop-out pal. It was the same way in the two previous instances I cited. The young man doesn't have the needed tolerance for pain.
I don't clearly know that he has the talent. I haven't seen enough of him. I heard that he went the distance with Gabriel Elizondo, and it seems that's about the only thing he can speak of; not too much, in and of itself, even though he floored Elizondo twice (he was floored once too, as they exchanged KD's in the first round).
But even if he does have talent, it takes a lot more than talent to get far in boxing.
I think he should start thinking of another line of business.
It was not the first time that Donaire quit. I remember two other occassions that he did, one clearly, the other vaguely.
Against Z Gorres, Donaire claimed he was unable to see after having been hit by a left hook in the first round. That left hook was preceded by a clash of heads and Donaire wanted officials to believe that the clash of heads was the cause of his vision issues although the ref, Jay Nady, had given him time to recover from the headclash. None of the officials bought it. Officially it went into the record books as a 1st round TKO win for Gorres.
In an earlier contest against another Filipino fighter somewhere in the suburbs of Manila, he quit in an early round after howling so much to the referee that he was frequently fouled. I can't recall who his opponent was but I recall vaguely that it was on a regular Philippine TV boxing show. It seems that the fight has been omitted from Donaire's official record; it cannot be found there. But many can attest that it did happen: there was a live audience and, like I said, it was carried on TV.
It ended as a defeat for Donaire.
In those two occassions, Donaire did not get away with his tricks. He, somewhat, succeeded against Darchinyan as ref Weekes bought it.
This fight was a total miss-match. donaire dint show anything that would indicate he was even close to Vics level except that maybe he can take a punch. I was expecting an early KO since he got tko'd by feather fisted prospect in 1rd.
and glenn deff pulled a "no mas"
Donaire bitched out, there was no headbutt, the alleged broken jam was clearly from a punch. And then that little fuck has the nerve to say "nah he doesn't punch hard, i thought he would but he's got nothing". Go fuck yourself!!!
Exactly how I feel. I was watching this fight with my mom and even she was pissed. lol :D
He was like nothing. Like, "The hell with it. I'll say it's a headbutt and go home. The ref will let me get away with it."
Donaire is a bitch. There was no headbutt. Should have been TKO because Donaire walked away and quit.
Tony Weeks based his call on Donaire saying it was a headbutt. Perhaps he watched Miranda-Abraham.
i liked how donaire turned around and said, no more he broke my jaw!!....like how the fk would he be so sure it was broken!!...
I think he would know more than anyone else.

Maybe Donaire was feeling pain in his jaw.
