Anybody ever see the movie "Alexander"...the guy who played Cleitus was a boxer from England, I had no idea
Anybody ever see him fight?
Gary Stretch

Stretch's records is a veritable "Who the fuck was he?" of boxing.
He was British champion (which actually meant something back then, as did Commonwealth and European), and probably the most well-known British champion, more people outside of boxing knew Stretch than they did Bomber Graham. He was pictured in glossy mags with glamorous women all the time..

Apparently he earned a shot at Eubank's title by beating the legendary Eduardo Domingo Contreras

He DIDN'T earn a shot at Eubank's title, that was just mastery promotional work by Barry Hearn that turned it into a £1million fight. Stretch was a good mover and boxer at 147-154 but never took the sport seriously until Hearn somehow got him his shot at Eubank.. but deep down everybody knew Stretch stood little chance because Eubank was a light-heavyweight who could make middleweight and Stretch a blown-up light-middle, so when Eubank started getting through with shots you knew the end was near.
Stretch was abit of a celebrity boxer, a known male model, KO'd George Collins on Record Breakers when he was a kid, and the Eubank fight was quite famous with the press conferences leading up.
Hell of a record that Contreras boy had, W 18 (0 ko's) | L 43 ROFL
and 16 draws. When you only have 2 more wins than draws in a 78 fight career your sport maybe should have been croquet.
I don't know if I would call any of the actors you listed "notable", but they are fun to watch.
Notable would be people with some sort of range in their acting, like Clive Owen, or Christian Bale.
I wasn't saying on the line of Pacino or anywhere near that line, but yeah, fun to watch
"Serious Actors" are a different story...it is just good to see guys come from non-theatre backgrounds that aren't bad to watch...at lest I don't think they have a theatre background

The English are really working their way up in my eyes...notable actors that aren't seemingly "pussies", that come from England: Guy Ritchie's boys, Jason Stratham and Vinnie Jones
Its always been like this, we just are seeing it more.

Roselyn Sanchez...dam...I thought my friend was kidding...I should of looked him up but just thought I ask here first to see if anybody saw him fight
I have only seen him in this movie so I don't know if he is good in anything else, but he gets bonus points for being a former boxer, now turned actor
he's like Billy Joel, boxer turned singer/songwriter after he broke his nose.
He was british light middleweight champion I think. Was stopped in 6 by Eubank, who was wayyy too strong for him. Stretch was seen as a pretty boy.
He's also in the film "Dead Mans Shoes". Worth a look.
