If Peter catches Toney early he could daze him enough to maybe get some flash knockdowns(I mean cmon James toney is only human, this streak has to end). He would need to be really agressive like he was in the last fight, only more accurate and technically sound. However, if it goes the distance Toney will get it by a close but unanimous decision. the judges will be on his side this time.
toney could weigh 320 pounds and still beat peter comfortably....
doubt it. toney isn't someone that people fear as a puncher, and he lost a decision to peter - even though it was slightly controversial, it was still a loss. the bad thing about that loss, is that even if you had toney winning on your card, peter still scored at the very least a few rounds. peter, against wladimir klitschko, was shut out or nearly shut out in every round that didn't include a knockdown. toney, being so skilled as people make him out to be, should lost maybe a couple of rounds at best.
this fight could likely be a carbon copy of the first fight.
now, to express my thoughts on this rematch, if it does indeed happen as scheduled:
why a rematch? how many times are the organizations going to keep him in the front running? i don't really like the idea of the wbc ordoring a rematch.
also, i don't want to hear about toney's shape. i don't believe that his weight will be a huge factor in whatever happens.
AND you picked Toney to win:owned:
Toney did win. See any poll on this fight and get the opinion of any expert. Aside from about 12 dumbasses on this site, I can't recall anyone having Peter winning. So if you are among those dumbasses, well, that's your problem.
Lets not forget how ripped he looked at 228 for Riddell Booker.
Toney hasn't looked ripped since his MW days. I agree he has a lot of muscle under a layer of fat, but it's a very large layer of fat, especially around his midrif. It it was a little layer you wouldn't have had that jiggly belly apron hanging over his beltline.
I hope you were being sarcastic.
peter by savage 4th round knockout:duh:
As we all seen Peter's best punch against Toney and it lays Toney out everytime..
Even if Toney hit the canvas he would get right back up. The man doesn't have conditioning heart but he does ring heart.
Wow. I just found out this fight was happening. I'm extremely excited. The first fight was tremendous. I predict another great fight with Toney winning a decision, this time officialy.
I also don't anticipate much difference in the rematch. Toney will put on another boxing clinic but the judges in all likelihood will reward Peter for being the harder punching HW contender.
Unless Toney scores at least one KD, I don't see the judges giving him the nod on the cards.
Ok, my prediction
Toney, letting his head get full of all the crap about how he won, thinks that he doesn't need to train and steps into the ring at an even 300.
Peter, hoping he will finally get to land that one big bomb eats some extra KFC in camp so he can put more weight behind his wild swings and enters the ring at 325.
In the 6th round, Peter gets Toney against the ropes and while the 2 fighters are exchanging inside punches, their combined weight overbalances the ring and it tips over on its side, killing a drunken Larry Merchant, launching referee Eddie Cotton into the 5th row, where he lands in lap of Mills Lane, causing him yet another stroke.
The fight is ruled a No Decision, the WBC keeps their sanctioning fees and orders an immediate rematch.
after the fight, both meet up at david crosby's house of ribs and settle the score the old fashioned way, an eating contest

I am not saying shit until I see Toney in the same or better shape.
If James came in at 233 again, I'd be dissapointed. Its obvious that the weight slows him down a little, he needs to be 220-225.
Toney UD by 4 rounds and toney will come in at around 225 he knows he needs to stop fucking around he lost a lot of weight for the first fight and this time he will be all buisness just like he was for evander he will school peter this time and leave the judges nothing to score agienst him.
