This may be true, his trainer and promoter were screaming at him in German to be a man and go back out there and defend your title when the ref asked him the 2nd time. BUT... a few minutes before this the corner said he could not continue. The ring doctor said he can not continue, the ref tells the advisor "The kid can't go on, that's the fight". Now they discuss how to score the bout and moments later they all agree that Miranda will win by TKO. Now all of a sudden everyone changes there mind (except the ring doctor) and the ref allows the fight to continue. That is about as fucked up of anything I have ever seen in sports. Unreal! Doesn't the fighter have the right to know what the outcome would be before he agrees to continue? I understand your problem though it seems dishonest to want to quit if it goes to the cards, but fight if it's a TKO.

it was ottke/reid all over again. even with the points off no way abraham won that fight. he was very brave to carry on with a broken jaw but even before that he was doing very little to win rounds. it has to be said if that was in any other country miranda would have won the fight, in terms of boxing germany is the most corrupt country in the world. the headbutt was intentional and i've no problem with the 2 points for that, but what happened after was very fishy, abraham was shaking his head and pointing to his jaw like he was'nt going to carry on, and the time it took before they carried on was a disgrace. the "low blow" in the 11th was on the beltline and should'nt been a point off. even the rounds where miranda got deducted abraham did'nt win the round so it should have been 9-9 at worst. terrible.

I'm pretty sure he does say he does not want to continue at one point, but he's asked again and he agrees. Maybe he did not know he would have lost by TKO when he said no? While I think the fight should have been stopped, and Miranda should have won by TKO, I didn't think the referee did as bad a job as a lot of people are saying. I don't agree with 2 points for the headbutt, but I definitely think 1 point should have been taken. It was very intentional, even though it didn't hit particularly hard. Miranda had been throwing well south from the beginning of the match, and was told to "keep them up" a few times. I definitely believe he deserved two of those three for sure, and I'm not all that upset about the 3rd. It was Miranda's fight to win, and he threw it away.

I aint no hater, I like him and wish him well in his recovery. I thought he won the fight comfortably. arite then. when your guy wins the way Arthur did, you have your moment man, and you enjoy. You wont see me comin in to ruin things for you. To each his own.

Vanes and Evilsaint (and I'm sure Googler will jump in)... Cmon guys. I know you are very pro Abraham, but get realistic. 1st, the headbutt. This is Miranda's one mistake. I think it was more of a defensive move to break away from the holding, but I can accept it to be called intentional with maybe 1 point deduction. The ref actually gave Miranda just a warning and was ready to continue the fight until Abraham was allowed to walk to his corner and than he halted the fight IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BROKEN JAW AND SPLIT TONGUE! There was a devastating right hand in the middle of the 4th round that crushed Abraham's jaw. When Abraham enters the ring in the beginning of the 5th there is blood all over him and very apparent on his shorts. It gets very bad during this round. So don't be an idiot and say something stupid like the headbutt caused the break, otherwise nobody is gonna respect anything you say. A lot of questionable activity happened after the headbutt, I have posted this in another thread. Basically the fight was called off by both the doctor and the ref. The ref talked over the rules with the supervisor and the decision was given to give the fight to Miranda by TKO. Than Wilfred Sauerland overrules everyone and demands the fight continue (only in Germany!!) 2nd thing... There is no doubt in my mind that if this fight was done in America (or at least fairly) the fight would have been stopped in Round 5. Even if the fight would have been allowed to be continued, Miranda would have won on points (all but 1-2 point deductions were complete BS, and the others are questionable, warnings are more common. To be fair, Abraham should have been warned and points deducted for and clinching and not letting go.). I give Abraham much much credit for hanging in there. This doesn't warrant him to get the win, but shows great heart. I was at the fight. Actually now on the plane on my way back to USA. Don't be surprised when you find out Abraham injuries are worse than the media is talking. I wish him the best, but would not be shocked if he never fights again (or at least takes a much longer recovery time). This would be a disgrace to boxing if this happens, but 100% fault of Abraham's promoter to risk his career like that. I talked with the doctors after the fight. They are basically Sauerland employees and they were upset. The main ring doctor who said to stop the fight said he had never seen a fighter with such a horrible injury be allowed to continue. Pretty sad...

pantera did the next best thing he crushed his jaw:banana: and sent him to the hospital..they said his tongue was ripped up and he needed 5 litres of blood. I gave pantera 9 rounds, all abram had to do was show up and he was going to win..typical german boxing UNDEFEATED - 22-0, 17 KOs AND STILLLLLLLLLL IBF MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. as for all the haters like yourself... :bottle: :bottle: :bottle:
