Bro Cotto is naturally larger than Floyd. Cotto kills himself to make 140 pounds and looks like a skeleton at weigh ins. No way you can be at your best when you are weight drained. So the fact that Coto is naturally bigger means hes the the bigger guy without weight draining himself. Its not like Floyd is a big welterweight.
Actually fuk it I dont need to explain to you anything. Read this whole thread, my posts make very good sense and your just riding my ass like a hater.
No need to overreact.
I just think that assuming Cotto will drasticlly improve while going up in weight isnt a smart assumption.
I just want to see how Cotto's chin is at 147: will it be worse, the same, or better? I wonder if the weight increase will give him a better chin since he will not be so drained
Is this fight actually going to happen or is it just another make believe?
I was going to pick Floyd on points (I can't believe I'm reading the implication that Floyd has the same punching power as Torres from some posters  ) but maybe I need to think about this. Cotto ain't THAT bad, and he's good at closing down the ring.
It's a make believe. Cotto is supposed to fight Carlos Quintana.
I think that Miguel would give Floyd hell at 147...But like someone said already, let's see first how Cotto does at 147 and how Floyd does against a true Welter (Baldi).
exactamundo mayne
But you havent seen Cotto at 147 yet, so you cant make those assumptions.
I think Floyd will beat Cotto based on what I have seen of both of them at 140, and that Floyd is still faster than Cotto at 147.
He had Cotto hurt and bad.

I think Cotto's a bigger stronger guy than Judah and Mitchell, we haven't seen Cotto fight at WW and we haven't seen PBF take on a TRUE WW. Once we see how PBF does against Baldi, we might get a better picture of how this fight would play out, only that Cotto's a better boxer than Baldi. If they fought today at 140, I'd give it to PBF hands down, but at 147 with Cotto not draining himself, should be very close IMO. I think Cotto stands a much better chance than some people in here think. I agree with going against Margarito if he can get pass Quintana, then whatever happens, bring PBF on.
As much as i like Cotto and Mayweather.. I would say that mayweather could win by UD.. But i would go for Cotto by KO. Cause Mayweather tends to get cocky at times.. and like the ropes.. That would make him pay.. But Mayweather would win by UD. But Cotto could land that one shot.
Mayweather is all business in the ring.
He is not Roy Jones.
I favor Cotto at 147 because Cotto drains himself to make weight at 140. He wont be at his full potential if he is weight drained. Pretty simple. And I look at it like the more Floyd moves up in weight, the more vulnerable he is. Them good enough reasons?
And Torres didnt "drop" Cotto. It was ruled a knockdown but how can you honestly say Torres dropped him? Honestly. It was clearly a push, anyone with eyes can see that.

Mayweather does get cocky in the ring but he knows what opponents he can get away with that behavior with. Mayweather is a very professional and intelligent fighter. He wouldn't give a chance to Cotto to land something big on him. Mayweather would win easily on points maybe even a late stoppage if Cotto gets hit clean to many times.
There is way too much of a handspeed and footwork difference. If Cotto beats Quaintana then he needs to go fight Margarito or Hatton, their styles would make a great fight. Mayweather is just the wrong fighter for him.
Mayweather wins this, but not by KO or TKO. UD for mayweather. Lets see how well Cotto does at 147 against Quintana- which is by no means an easy fight. I actually think that this fight is a toss up (quintana Cotto)

I need to see how Cotto looks at 147. If he looks fluid and adjusted to the weight like he looked early on at 140 I think he'd have a good chance to beat Floyd. Like someone previously mentioned, some fighters balance and overall fighting ability is helped by moving up in weight. With a fighter like Cotto (who is obviously drained at 140 and has been for some time) I think this will be the case. Trinidad looked stronger at 154, so did fighters like Hearns before him, for example.
At this point the obvious safe bet is Mayweather. His speed and great counter punching skills would make Cotto think twice about recklessly coming forward. On the other hand, Cotto is a murderous body puncher...and as elusive as Floyd is...the body doesn't move like the head. I can see Cotto coming through a good amount of punishment to break down Floyd to the body and stop him late. Maybe thats just the Cotto fan in me dreaming.
So, morales has trouble of making the 130 pound but he look very slow at 135 pounds so whats that tell you?.Just cause cotto drain himself at 140 pound doesn't mean he will do better at 147 pounds, I do give cotto credit though, he's 147 pounds debut is against a very difficult slick fighter in quintana.
Yea Morales also started his career at 122 pounds. Successfully moved up to 126 and then successfully moved up to 130. Won 3 world titles in 3 weight divisions. Then looked bad when he moved up to 135 which was his 4th time moving up and towards the end of his career when he is no longer in his prime and has been in all kinds of wars.
Cotto is still young and fresh. Cotto started his career at 140 and is still there. This will be his first time moving up unlike Morales who fought at 3 weight classes.
How about that?

I think it is funny how you say you favor Cotto over Floyd at 147 but not at 140, when Cotto has never fought at 147 yet.
And Torres dropped Cotto.
Sorry.
