Since i've been on this forum i have not seen anyone mention his name. His last fight was a loss to Barerra in 2004.
Has he officially retired ? I'm guessing he has.
What do ya'll think of him as a fighter.
His wars with Tapia and Bones Adams were classic !

Good fighter, very tough, throws lots of punchs, but doesn't have power, sort of like Juan Diaz, you can compare him to.
His first title shot was a baddass fight. Then when he won the title that fight was fight of the year against Tapia. The Adams fights we also FOY fights and he also defened his title against another Japanes fighter damn good fight too, the japanese fighter looked two divisions bigger then Ayala but Ayala was righ their in front of him and beat him, Ayala just throws a lot of punchs and has a good chin that allowed him to mix it up with anybody. He put up a good effort in both Morales and Barrera fights. Ayalas has a lot of great fights, he was a tough fighter, with good skills, if he had a punch he'd be a killer, even with out punch he was one hell of a fighter.
