I'm going with the younger, fresher Juarez. After what happened in the second half of their first fight, you'd have tobe crazy to pick against Juarez. Juarez's confidence is soaring now and he's coming in with the mentality that he can win. I really don't think Barrera has much left in the tank. He's pretty much been fighting off pure heart and experience since the third Morales fight. My pick is for Juarez to stop Barrera in the last quarter of the fight and win his first world title. What are your thoughts?
I thought Barrera won the first fight and I see him winning the rematch. Juarez just isn't that skilled and I think he caught an off guard, disinterested Barrera napping.
Barrera has too much pride to get caught again. I say he outboxes Juarez and wins a solid majority decision and then gets knocked off for good by his next major opponent.
I want Juarez to win so that he can someday face Pacquiao and KO his ass with his deadly left hook
Dream on chum. Juarez is too small for PAC. And we all knows PAC toys with guys smaller than him.
Juarez is slow and he may have a good pressure game but PAC will simply play around and pick him apart using lightning reflexes and blitzing handspeed.
I'm going with Barrera by UD. Barrera wouldn't take this rematch if he didn't believe he could win it, and this time more convincingly. Obviously the mouthpiece was an issue with it falling out and everything. I believe that effected him in a big way as far as his comfort zone went. With a relaxed Barrera, he'll take charge. The only way I see Rocky winning is if he applies nonstop constant pressure and is RELENTLESS. You can't just sit around on Barrera or your playing into his hands. If Rocky has a chance at a UD, he needs to keep applying the pressure and throwing combinations. No 1 punch will do it, and I still don't think he can match Barrera technically. I'm telling you, Barrera wouldn't have taken this if he knew he couldn't win it. Barrera by a larger margin UD.
that's such a good point. notice how it's been 3 years since the Pacquiao fight? yet it's only 4 months between the Juarez fights? Barrera knows he can win and without too much trouble
Correction. It's 25-3-18KOs. It's hard to believe he already has 3 losses being so young and not having stepped up to the real elite competition until as of late. Losing to Barrera, Soto, and I'm counting the Zahir fight. That was such a gift with the ref. Zahir won that just based on workrate. Though all the point deductions and nonsense from the stupid ref really screwed up that fight for Zahir. I think Rocky is a good fighter though not great. He definitely has things to improve on and one he could start with would be his workrate level.
lol, I wasn't concentrating on the losses
i agree with this, i wouldnt be surprised if barrera gets a late KO!!! :boxing:
barrera is gonna be more focused, motivated, prepared and trained for this fight, barreras gonna be ready and by him training in mexico is bad news for juarez.
I'm sure Barrera will be focused, motivated and prepared.....I just think he's lost enough for a young bull to win. Barrera showed great heart in the late rounds of that last fight but I predicted Rocky to win the first fight and I predict he will win this one too.
Barrera wants that pacman rematch. ur gonna see a more determined barrera. a better trained berrera. and the best barrera that there can be at this time.
barrera will dominate this fight. he wont lose more then 4 rounds. juarez goes down in this fight.

Barrara will win this fight pretty easy. He won the first fight very clearly, I don't know how people saw a draw. Barrara punches too much for Juarez to sustain a steady attack. Juarez doesn't punch enough to beat Barrara. His only chance is to knock him out with his left hook, but if he can't do that he will be outboxed again.
i think AGE and Momentum not on the champs side and is more likely the underdog to win ...
BUT I think Marco will win again, like most MAB fan I also think he wont be taking this rematch if he dont think he can win ...
I finally got around to watching the first fight on my DVR. I can see where there was controversy in the decision even though I had Barerra up 8-4. There were 6 rounds in the fight that I thought could have gone either way. In 4 of them I thought that Barerra was doing a good job of landing cleaner punches and making Juarez miss, so I gave them to him. In the other 2, I thought Rocky's harder punches swung them to him.
I wasn't thinking about buying the PPV, and may still wait for the free replay, but the fight was good enough where I'm considering buying. I need to know more about the undercard first, though.
As for my pick, I have to go with Barerra. He's too good and too professional to allow this to stay inside as much as the first did. I think he will make Juarez look silly this time around.
His record is 25-0-18 Ko's

For a guy named "Rocky" he sure doesn't throw that many punches...I think Juarez should think about changing or adding a trainer, maybe Freddie Roach...Roach wouldn't let him get away with throwing that low amount of punches per round...it wouldn't hurt also to add some head movement, combinations, or more use of the jab...if he added some of the things I mentioned I would pick him by KO. His record is 25-0-18 Ko's...he could have more KO's in my opinion if he fought better...the guy has got some pop in his punches but by not throwing that many it gives his opponents more time to recover.

I'll give you mad props if that's comes to pass, I think it could go either way, If Juarez turns up the juice early I think he could win or even stop MAB, If Barrera's focus is solid he could easily walk away with the win.
both didn't have tuneup fights in between rematches. this doesn't favor a rocky prediction since we can't see if he made improvements. he's the upcoming one who still needs to peak against a seasoned fighter.
sure he caught mab once in a while in the 1st fight but if he has nothing new to bring to the table, then it would be a repeat of the first fight. at his stage of mab's career skills-wise, a tuneup fight for mab in between rematches isn't necessary if rocky is the same rocky he fought in the 1st.
if rocky's punches improved by coming in a tad more quicker, then i think he has a good chance.
