It seems that on November 11th, Wladimir will not only defend his IBF heavyweight title in New York, but also celebrate two anniversaries. This will be his fiftieth fight in his professional career, and it will be his tenth year anniversary as a professional boxer.
Nevertheless for this day to end on the right note, Wladimir needs to defend his championship title against unbeaten Calvin “The Boxing Banker” Brock. Brock has kept a perfect record since his debut in February 2001, winning all twenty-nine fights, twenty-two of those by a knockout.
When we spoke to Wladimir about his opponent, Wladimir stated that: “Calvin Brock is a very difficult fighter. His professional results and amateur career proves it. I realize how dangerous Brock is and I will not underestimate him.”
Interestingly, Calvin has already declared that he’ll be the next IBF champion. “When I started boxing, I said that I would become a world champion. And at last on November 11th my dream will become reality. I’m going to win. There will be no doubt who won!”
On September 19th, in New York, the first press conference would take place to promote November 11th fight. Wladimir and Calvin will meet each other for the first time as opponents. Wladimir is currently in Los Angeles, where he continues to finalize negotiations about his fight with Calvin.
Good it's official.
Don't question Brocks fighting capabilities, the guy is unbeaten and a dangerous worthy opponent. He deserves this fight.
i never said he did not deserve the fight
I do not post often, however something about that comment bothered me. Through the years boxing has gone on an up-down cycle. Clearly, right now it's on the down.
Why should a top contender "stay away" from champion? On the other hand, why should a champion be cheated from proving he can beat the top contenders? Boxing needs fights like this. Boxing needs a real undisputed champion of the world.
If Brock were to stay away from Wlad while he's ontop, what would make it more interesting if he were to fight a future, not-as-good Wlad?
Just my 2cents
I guess he means if Brock knows what's good for him, I agree with you even though I don't think this will be a barn burner. Brock doesn't have much chance of winning IMO.
i like Brock he is a nice guy, but he needs to saty away for waldy NOBODY can beat him right now
