Finally another fighter like Pacquiao willing to fight the best anytime. This is why Pac and Taylor are my two favorite fighters. They just want to be the best by fighting the best.
FLOYD take some notes on how to be a man from these two warriors in the ring.
There was an article right here in BS about a week ago saying that Winky now wanted a rematch. Did you catch that?
Yeah I caught it, and I understand why Winky would want to fight Taylor again.
I was just referring to what WInky and Taylor's trainer said back in June immediately following the draw.
yeah, i'm sorry but i don't really trust this news..
Why would you not trust fightnews?
Winky said he wants Taylor, and Taylor said he will fight him right now.
No excuses for Ronald.
I heard Winky isnt interested in a rematch. However that was in the heat of the moment, just after the fight when he got pissed with the whole post fight press conference thing.
Yeah, in fact this is straight off the AP and ESPN's Dan Rafael immediately following the June 17 matchup.
Wright was quoted in the post-fight press conference saying:
"What do you expect? I'm essentially in his hometown. They gave him what he wanted. I don't want no rematch. There are other fights out there. The fans know who won the fight. I came to his hometown and showed everybody I'm the champ. I don't want a rematch. If I have to come here and get that kind of decision, what's the point?"
On top of that, Taylor's promoter, Lou Dibella seemed content with Wright's claim, stating:
"We will never fight this fight again. The rematch will never happen. Winky said he doesn't want one. Fine with us."
That was less than three months ago. Funny how things change.
check it out if you tryin' to catch up on the fight.
Man Ouma must be PISSED! I think he would have got his ass handed to him but the guy really wanted this fight and seemed very pumped for it. That sucks.
But I would rather see Taylor-Wright II, but you got to feel for Ouma.
Word, that's a fight I want to see.
Better let boxrec.com know, they got the Ouma fight on 11/25 posted for Taylor.

Damn, don't mean to quote myself but scratch that last part. The report said Taylor wants to fight Wright, not officially will fight Wright.
Regardless, I hope they make it happen. I'd drop a smooth 50 on that bout.
TAYLOR-WRIGHT II FALLING APART FASTER THAN IT SEEMED TO BE COMING TOGETHER!

WINKY TO TAYLOR: 50-50 or no fight!
Over the past couple of days there has been a buzz throughout the boxing world about the Jermain Taylor-Winky Wright rematch taking place later this year on HBO PPV. After both Taylor and Wright came on the record making it clear that they want the fight, the business reps for both fighters opened discussions to see if an agreeement could be reached. Offers were made to Wright, which the former junior middleweight king is unwilling to accept. Although Wright is being offered nearly two million dollars more than he was guaranteed for the first Taylor fight, the Winkster says, "there's no way the fight is happening unless it's 50-50. I took the 55-45 split for the first fight just to prove that I'm the best middleweight out there. I don't think fans should blame Jermain but the people behind him need to come up with a 50-50 offer otherwise there's not going to be a fight! This isn't about how much more I'm making for this fight, this is about me getting treated fairly. I've been taking shorts my whole career and now that I've proven myself they got to do right by me." With the Taylor fight seeming far less likely than it did after yesterday's discussion, ********** asked Wright who he would be fighting on HBO World Championship and according to the pride of St. Pete's, Ike Quartey appears to be the frontrunner as this goes to print. When informed of Wright's comments, Taylor promoter Lou DiBella told **********, "I say this with love, he ain't never fighting Jermain unless he leaves planet Winky to return to planet earth." Taylor advisor Ozell Nelson and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, who is currently out of the country, were unavailable for immediate comment
I dont see why winky feels hes getting shafted, hes making more than last time.
Word, that's a fight I want to see.

i'm glad taylor wants to fight wright again. first off those two need to rematch each other, and second i didn't like the ouma fight all that much. mostly for the fact that ouma was moving up in weight, and that taylor is so much bigger. plus ouma takes a lot of shots, and against taylor that wouldn't be the best thing to be doing, taking one or two to get one like ouma normally does.
ouma vs taylor would be spirited, but a one sided beating by taylor. ouma doesn't have the strength to keep taylor off him, and he's out gunned. taylor has ouma on height, weight, reach, power and hand speed. uphill battle for ouma. ouma should try and make a statement in 154lb division.
I applaud Taylor and think this is great news.......He is a true Champ even if he has yet to dominate at the top yet he is trying and you have to give him alot of credit for that......
I heard Winky isnt interested in a rematch. However that was in the heat of the moment, just after the fight when he got pissed with the whole post fight press conference thing.
Winky wasnt emotional after the fight when he told that. He felt that he was robbed.
But couple of times i heard he is preparing to fight Taylor for 2nd time
You can't blast a guy because he couldn't KO Hopkins or Winky. Nobody has ever done that to either man.
I guess you're right about Hopkins.
He should've blew Winky out of the water, though. The style Winky fought made it very possible for Taylor to do that.
Too many stories on this. I read on another website that Taylor-Ouma is already signed. Another site had Taylor-Mora already signed. Now Taylor wants Wright......but Wright supp has a done deal fight with Quartey for December.
Jermaine Taylor needs to win by KO if he wants any respect from me.
I'm disgusted by this kid and his inability to KO people, but I like his attitude...It's hard to hate a guy with an attitude like that. Even if he did beat one of my favorite fighters (Hopkins).
