Poll: Are you a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan?

hes a true champion and thats a fuckin fact,i rute 4 him in most fights n i think the reason ppl dont like him or deny his skill is coz they aint seen enithin as good as him for years!

a fan? NO. do i respect him? YES. well put. hes a great fighter, no doubt, but i just dont like the guy.

i admit he's probably the most skilled fighter in boxing now, but I have no respect for him until he starts stepping up. Its tough for me to understand and asstertain what you mean by "stepping up", do you know how many fighters right now by definition are not "stepping up"? By what perimeters should PBF step up, seriously, tell me.

Great fighter,like an RJJ though,living off the names he beat earlier in his career. Has done nothing in the last 4 years to justify P4P number 1 status and thinks too much of himself,so no,I am not a fan.

I picked yes simply because I do enjoy watching him fight......I would not say I am a "fan" of his persay though........

A true fighter and a smart fighter does whatever it takes to WIN...this isn't deathmatch....its boxing. If you have great skills and can avoid being hit to win, you do it. Great post. Thank you for replying to his post with this statement.

Funny you should say that while on the flipside we have Antonio Margarito... In years to come if Floyd took the fight and won people would say the same thing about Tony. You're also missing the point on ducking. This fight was in the works for... 3-4 months. THe first couple of months the offer was ridiculous since they would not negotiate the date of the fight, which Floyd could not change. By the time they changed that, the division had changed with Baldomir defeating Gatti. Now, if Margarito continues to hold on to his belt and winning ways against actual comepetitors and FLoyd stays at welterweight then I'll allow people to say that he's ducking them. Until then... no. If that's ducking, then every fighter in the history of boxing ducked an ass load of people that called them out and didn't fight immediately. Get real folks. Exactly right and u not even a fan of his i dont think. They act like margo aint go fight no more, like he got priority over these other fighters who prolly want fight too much longer. Dude need to fight somebody who has beaten other significant fighters!! Not Kyvelos, Gomes, Lujan, Cintron, Lewis.

I honestly think that Floyd would destroy Margarito, but I am just pissed that he's not taking the fight. Everyone, including me, says that he is ducking him. Even if its for money or not, fact is, he is ducking him. I think in order to cement your legacy and skills, you have to leave people with no doubts about you at all. Right now everyone thinks he's scared of him, and he says he isn't. Well he should prove it by KHTFO and earning an easy 8 mil while leaving people shocked, getting tons more respect, and shutting the Margarito fans up. I am not a PBF fan nor a Margarito fan, like I said before though, whether its for more money or not, the fact is that Floyd is ducking Margartio. Is margarito about to die or something? Is he about to retire? Is his next fight his last or is next year his last year boxing? Dude will get a fight if cont. to win and he actually decides to fight someone with superb skills. This man is an excellent skilled fighter. Is he my favorite, no, but is he the best right now, yes.

id say im borderline a fan/more so of his skills then him if that makes anysense i like more what he could do but i dont like him cuz hed rather do little i like his potential and the brief instances which he shows his ability to be great

Recent internet trends should never influence how someone feels about something. Often times on the internet people tend to take a un-objective stance on things, the internet rarely reflects how someone would ACTUALLY argue something. If someone honestly said outloud amongst boxing fans that Mayweather isnt a legit fighter, they would be looked at with contempt. This place just doesnt reflect reality. I believe my problem was moreso that the minority who despise Floyd on this site just feel the need to make at least 20 posts on the subject a day... thus it seems like more people are in that boat.
