Is Margarito so Great or is it Pure Floyd Hate?

This easily sums up the so called Margarito lovers. The majority of them didnt even like or care about Margarito until all this Floyd shit happened. They just hated Floyd so much and it was finally like God sent Margarito down to step up to Floyd. Everyone hated Floyd but they knew that couldnt anyone beat him even if they wanted him to lose. If Floyd wouldve called out Margarito and made a fight then it wouldnt even be a big deal. People would be talking about it as a regular average fight that Floyd would be heavily favored in. Most of them wouldve actually said that Floyd is again hand picking a nobody who hasnt beaten anyone and only has a vacant belt and again another guy coming off a loss. That fight wouldve got no hype at all but Floyd didnt do that. Margarito came to Floyd and Floyd turned it down. All the Floyd haters jumped up and said "YES, this is our hero, someone who will stand up to Floyd". Knowning that Floyd wouldnt take the fight then they can say anything they want about him being scared & a fraud who knows that Margarito will kill him when the truth is that they wouldve never killed or made a big deal about this fight if Floyd had called out Margarito from the jump. Let me ask all of you this? How come I dont remember hearing anyone saying before the Zab or Mitchell fight, "I cant wait for this to be over so Floyd can fight Margarito"? No one said that shit. No one cared about Margarito or that fight. Even after Baldy beat Zab no one said, "ok Floyd can fight Margarito now". Everyone ripped Floyd and said that he should be fighting Baldy instead of Zab because Baldy is the real champ. No one gave a fuck about Margarito or that fight. If Floyd wouldve fought Margarito right after Baldy beat Zab then everyone wouldve called Floyd a bitch for fighting Margarito and said how he is handpicking another guy who just lost, has a fake title, and he will be heavily favored against. If Floyd wouldve jumped straight on a Margarito fight then this fight would be getting no hype & no fans would be all on Margarito except for handfull. Floyd turned the fight down and the Legend of Margarito grew because so many people hate Floyd & they finaly have a something they can stand on against him. All anyone talked about was Floyd vs Zab, Cotto, Hatton, Oscar, or Shane. Baldy beat Zab and everyone said that Floyd should fight Baldy and he's a bitch if he doesnt. I strictly remember when Floyd was at 140 and talking about moving up, I read so many articles about how great a fight between Floyd & Zab would be. Before Zab beat Spinks everyone was talking about a Floyd-Spinks superfight. No media person or fan gave a fuck about Margarito or thought it was a big fight. Shit, half the media guys who rip him are Mexican & half the fans are Mexican, or Euros who are Hatton freaks. Now look how things change? You guys are just pure haters who ride the wagon. Never before in history has a guy been criticzed for not taking a fight against a guy with Margarito's resume and it still wouldve never happened but Floyd turned it down and here comes the sharks. You guys are pathetic. Now Margarito is your hero when none of you gave a fuck about him 1st or thought that he was a special opponent for Floyd or thought that it was a big fight, or thought that he could win. Its a joke and you should be ashamed of yourselves

I think Margarito is just a very basic Fighter...that's it. Very Basic Speed,Footwork,Jab,Head Movement,etc... With that being said, Sometimes Very Basic Fighters... Can done Beyond Basic Things if a Good Fighter Fights to their level.... So I hope Cotto doesn't fight at Margarito Level or Cotto will make a very Basic Fighter look like a Good Fighter..

MARGARITOS BIGGEST VICTORY WAS KERMIT CINTRON! Floyd has beat HERNANDEZ, DIEGO, CASTILLO TWICE, GATTI, MITCHELL, JUDAH, OSCAR & HATTON. Only a prejudiced hater would try to compare a 5 loss ex titleholder like Margarito to Floyd. With that being said I hope he does fight Margarito after he gets rid of more credible opponents like Oscar again, Mosley, Cotto, Spinks, or Williams the guy who already beat Antonio.

margarito is hardly a GREAT fighter in the sense of the word when used for fighters like ali margarito is somewhere in between good and great as in above average but hes that becuz of his toughness and power but also has his fair share of faults in other words i doubt hell be a fighter remembered long after hes left the ring

i dont think margo is great, but i i do think floyd deserves the criticism Why? For fighting the linear champ and then moving up in weight to face an all time great?? And I think its quite contridictory that you pulled Floyd from your "number one spot" becuase he hasnt faced a legit opponent, but you have Winky Wright at number one who just faced and old and faded Ike Quartey. And Ferocity, please shut up about the "8 million dollars" crap. Floyd turned 8 million for more money and the linear championship. End of story.

i dont think margo is great, but i i do think floyd deserves the criticism I don't see how you can be criticized for fighting someone who couldn't do much against a no hands Clottey....a Clottey for God's sake. Anybody with two eyes can see that margo vs. Floyd isn't a very competitive fight. Simply Another classic Baldomir ass whooping!!!

Yeah he's the stronges but what does that mean? The strongest doesnt make you special. I think pretty much all WW's are going to be strong to a guy who's not a real WW. Baldy is super strong, Williams is strong, and Callazo is strong. You have to admit that you werent big on this fight until Floyd turned it down. You never cared much about it or thought that it was such a big deal, right? You mightve said that it would be a decent fight but it was nothing like "oh, Floyd has to fight Margartio to be considered great"? No one thought about Margarito or the fight like that until Floyd turned it down and now Margarito has turned into Duran & Hagler all rolled into one Thats actually not true. i did think about this fight before he turned it down. I thought it would be a good fight and a good test for Floyd.

Hard to fight the best competition when guys like Hatton and Mosley are ducking. Margarito is the only one who wants to fight Floyd and it's because he's a nobody with nothing to lose and the million dollar payday would be his biggest by far. If Margarito was a proven commodity, he wouldn't utter Floyd's name... And Mayweather only wants to fight Delahoya because it brings Floyd his biggest paycheck - lets not bullshit the siutation. And Mosley has already once ducked Margarito, or more realisticly said, "I wont fight Margarito." And Hatton, Hatton wont fight Margarito. We already know Mayweather wont fight him. Whatever happened when Champions face tough contenders, did Mayweather not read the boxing rules? Even though he is getting the fight/paycheck he wanted, i have to aleast give him credit for fighting Delahoya, but i still have to ask if the money wasn't there would Flod still fight Delahoya?

I believe the reason PBF turned down 8 mil, is the same reason Marg wants to fight PBF: For the the bigger buck$$. Well that would be stupid on Mayweather's part. If he claims to be the greatest of all time and wants to prove it (won't happen), he needs to not always be concerned with 'big bucks' and more concerned about fights against tough competition.

The majority is probably neither. Margarito may be a great fighter for this era but he hasn't fought the best so its difficult to gauge. But even if he isn't great as some people say, stylistically he matches up well against Mayweather and that could certainly make a difference.

Still doesn't explian why he turned down 8 million dollars. Margarito is tough and will test Mayweather and has a great chance of beating him, is all that people were saying back then. And im still saying the same. And just so you know, i would like Margarito to fight Williams before he fights Cotto. Then after Cotto he'll probably get respect. I believe the reason PBF turned down 8 mil, is the same reason Marg wants to fight PBF: For the the bigger buck$$. Against DLH, PBF stands to make (my guess) 15 mil to 20 mil after all is said and done. I think PBF comes out the winner in this case.
