Yes...the the game wont be onesided...Pretty Boy will never be beaten and if Bald can pull out a victory then it would open the doors for everyone.....half of the punks out there know they cant beat Pretty Boy but feel they would murder Bald...
Because he isn't a knockout artist like Tyson or Foreman, and he doesn't have the instant name and face recognition of SRL and DLH, it is going to take a great fight for him to win the public's adoration. He may be the most talented fighter of the current generation; however, the general public is not enamored with boxing talent. They don't want to see twelve round shutouts of overclassed fighters. The people who don't haunt forums like this, the fans that keep boxing mainstream, want to see closely contested fights. It could be that PBF is that good; so good that he can't be tested. More than likely he isn't fighting those opponents that can test him. I am not advocating any fighter in particular, just one that will test the limits of PBF's talent. I understand his desire to make money. That is his right;however, fighting Carlos Baldomir, although a legitimate fight due to the belt, is not going to propel him into the public eye any further than he is now. Until he takes the fights that test him, he will be relegated to the status of a wealthy fighter who is the most talented fighter of his current generation, future HOFer, but not legitimately named with fighters like Ali and Leonard.
great post i totally agree, good karma for that

How the hell does that show that Floyd thought Castillo won? That is so backwards. He took the fight because some guys like you thought Castillo won and instead of you giving him credit for a rematch, you diss him. Meanwhile a guy like Hatton has a similar fight in Callazo and is scared shitless to have a rematch. I guess that means Hatton really thinks he won?
If a fight was close and some people question a win then a true champ gives a immediate rematch. They dont hide & say they easily won, or that they rather have a bigger fight and then end up fighting Urkal or Urango?
my whole point is floyd doesnt fight for no one except himself and supposedly money, he dont do it for the fans or for the critics he could give a fuck less, if he did it for the fans and critics wed see him fightin margarito on nov 4th or he would have already fought margarito, so theres no way he fights for the fans or to shut the critics up, he fights for himself and money...
That logic is flawed, if he didint take the fight people would say hes scared, so he takes the fight, and you still think that somehow FLOYD thought he won? He took it to shut people up who think that he made up excuses or that Castillo won it. I dont doubt one second that Floyd thought he himself won the fight.
I understand your opinion about the fight, and i respect it, but you cant use logic like that. Winky thought he beat Jermaine, but didint jump at a remtach, now look at how people view him in some respects, you understand what im saying here?
with winky he was heated at the time, now hes ready to do it again, and taylor said wait...and im not sayin every fighter that makes a rematch happen thinks he lost the first fight and wants to prove himself, i just think thats why floyd did it, cause he doesnt come off as the type of fighter that would fight somebody again just for the fuck of it, or just because people are talking and sayin shit about him, and definately not because people are claimin he's duckin, i mean look at Margarito a lot of people are saying hes duckin antonio but floyd doesnt give a fuck, if he fought for the fans and gave the fans what they wanted he would have fought margarito already, so i dont think he took the castillo fight to shut people up, if so then why not shut the margarito stuff up? because margarito hasnt beaten anybody? but who did Henry Bruseles beat to get a fight wit floyd? thats hypocritical in my view...
I think the second fight and the fact that floyd took it showed me that he even thought castillo beat him the first one and wanted to prove it was just a fluke so he came out and made adjustments and beat him in the second one, but that should have been a trilogy well never be able to see cause the wrong man got the first fight, and everytime i watch the first castillo-mayweather fight i dont see anything different, just floyd gettin beat, and i like floyd, just lately his choice of opponets has been botherin me, but it doesnt change the fact that he may be the most talented fighter in the game...

i'd say that oscar de la hoya is more of a household name that pbf is.
Of course, but if they do set up their megafight, it will be like a passing of the torch type of thing.
Floyd wins and becomes the new face of boxing, and joins GBP.
It will happen.
And to add...personally...if Castillo landed as many punches especially power punches as the stats say, Floyd wouldnt have even been standing, alot of those punches simply did not land.
compubox has nothin to do wit me thinkin castillo won, i never pay attention to compubox cause there always off whether it be a little of a lot, for example taylor didnt hit wright as many times as they said, and vargas didnt hit quartey as many times as they said, they tend to count a punch even when a fighter blocks it wit his glove...so compubox isnt what made me score the fight for castillo, watchin every round and pickin who won it is what i did...
I feel floyd won many of the early rounds and just a couple of the later rounds, which was enough to have him win the fight. Castillo came on very very strong later in the fight, but in all honesty, i think the key was the 11th round, when floyd stood right in front of him and decided he was going to take the fight to him. Regardless what HBO and other detractors think, i feel floyd did enough to win. The 2nd fight shut down all doubts as he obviously had castillo figured out.

i agree, i like seein respectful fighters...who respect the sport of boxing...and on top of that mite i add floyd should be walkin around wit a 1 on his loss column, cause castillo beat him in the first fight regardless of what his fans think, and even most of his fans think castillo beat him, so i dont see floyd as an undefeated fighter like some of u mite...hes been beaten before...

mayweather losing to baldomir would be a good thing in my eyes. it would shake things up a bit. think about it. if baldomir beats pbf, then we have a possibility for a nice little rematch set up. and maybe even a rubbermatch.
besides, i personally can't stand him as a representitive for the sport of boxing.
obviously you are entitled to your opinion, but what country a fighter comes from should not really matter. taking that view is quite narrow minded as i see it. me, i just want to see good fighters making good fights/match-ups. i also find that many(not all, of corse) american fighters have a pompous, asshole-like attitude. i would rather root for a nice, respectful foreign fighter than a brutishly arrogant american fighter. i simply want to see a fighter fight. if i wanted to hear a couple of people verbally tearing down each other, i'll pop in some old battle rap.

Plus Bruno rocked him on a few occasions in 89, so he definitely wasn't invincible. He was just intimidating. I look at Vitali Klitschko and think, "this guy is intimidating", but at the same time, i don't think he's anywhere near invincible. I don't get the same vibe for any other fighter as I get for Floyd Mayweather. He is the best fighter I've ever seen fight live, and he will finish among the top 3-5 greatest ever.
Im sorry...you really have to have witnessed it to understand that there was an aura about Tyson that no other fighter had, or probably will ever have. Frankly you can say that now, but in 1990, nobody..i mean NOBODY was saying that shit, trust me.
I guarantee in 1988 after the Spinks knockout they weren't saying shit, and I know nobody on the planet predicted Douglas to beat him in 1990, but you also have to consider all of Tyson's problems throughout 1989 like his divorce and change of camp and think "this guy is going to have some problems in the ring soon". More often than not, your problems outside the ring catch up to you in the ring. Fighters like Tapia avoided it and Mayweather is cleaning up his act very wisely, but most of the time, your career goes downhill when your life does.
but hindsight serves us well. looking back, Tyson had all sorts of flaws, none of which have arisen in Mayweather. Mayweather is flawless. he can only be beaten by his own ambition at this point. nobody from 147 on down can beat him, of that I am convinced. the danger lies at 154. if you look at some of Tyson's fights even before he became champion, like Reggie Gross, for example. Reggie Gross had him hurt. Mayweather has never appeared hurt, even for an instance. a lot of people say chop chop hurt him, but I don't see it. and then Tyson was being outboxed for a couple rounds at times, even by fat guys like Tony Tubbs, before Tyson would overwhelm him. people that thought Tyson was invincible were quite foolish in retrospective. I don't know how I would have viewed him because I didn't get into boxing until Tyson was about done as a legitimate fighter in 96 with the first Holyfield loss. but virtually all experts have seen no flaws in Mayweather.

I remember it the same. We were convinced it was impossible, that no man would ever do that. I doubt that people involved in the sport saw it that way, but the public, especially those of us who were young, were shocked beyond belief. Floyd does not have that kind of mythology about him. Not even close.

If Floyd loses, you can say goodbye to fights with De La Hoya, Hatton, and Mosley right off the bat. So no, this would be very bad for boxing.
Same goes for Hatton. If he loses his "0", then he can say goodbye to fights with Mayweather and whoever else he was looking at.
