Steward: Briggs Most Dangerous!

Almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades....peter alomost Koed Wlad too.......LOL the 2 fights are completely different, Briggs came out bombimg in the 2nd rounds and Lewis was all over the place hurt as hell. No, that's not what I meant when I said Manny is full of it... I meant instead of hyping the fight with Briggs, he should be hyping the fight with one of the other champions -- Oleg, Sergei, or Nikolay... Recall that just two weeks ago, Steward was hyping anothe champ --- Rahman -- but all of the sudden, he is now hyping Briggs. I don't get it. Rahman was the wbc champ and it was clear that a fight with Rahman was gonna happen had he beat Maskaev. Now Maskaevs teams is clearly saying that Oleg will not be ready to fight on November 11th and I dont think Wlad will wait around, so the options foe him right now are Briggs who is the easiest fight to get and then there is Liakhovich who is promoted by Don King and Im sure negotiationg with King isnt easy, also Liakhovich is still green and unproven I mean nobody knows the guy. You can say whatever you want but Briggs is a dangerous fight and Manny is saying the right things...

Bunch of u guys on here are so full of crap, Mannys fighter Lennox Lewis faught Briggs and he was in the corner when Briggs was pounding Lewis around the ring for the first 2-3 rounds, Lewis was hurt so bad that he was staggering all over the ring. Obviously the dudes on here that say that this is overhyping the fight have naver seen the Briggs-Lewis fight and dont know what the hell they are talking about. Watch the fight and then talk... the most pathetic thing i've heard in a long time!..........it sounds more like, we are shit scared of the others and briggs is the easiest opponent out there!.......briggs doesn't deserve this title shot and wlad and gay manny are looking for another easy way out!!... be a real champ and fight the other champs! thats disrespectfull how can u call one of the greatest trainers of the sport that u love gay???

It's hard to gauge this fight...Briggs can hit, but he hasn't fought a top level fighter in so long, who knows how he'll react to getting hit. When I first heard that this fight was a possibility, I thought what Manny is saying, "that's pretty dangerous for Wlad". However, can't you draw alot of comparisons between this fight and Lewis-Tua? I know there are other factors that differentiate this fight from that one, like how Briggs is much taller than Tua and Wladdy is no Lennox, but it's somewhat similar and that's how I expect this fight to play out. Wlad will box his ears off while playing it very safe and eventually wear him down with right hands and end this thing late. Wlad TKO10 Briggs, Briggs goes down 2-3 times and shows some heart before the ref stops it.

wlad will destroy briggs in 5 one-sided rounds I'm not too sure. Briggs is fast and can hit. It depends which Wlad Klitschko turns up. If the one who turned up against Sanders, Brewster or even Peter turns up Briggs has the abilty to destroy Wlad. However, if a fighter is only as good as his last fight then Wlad's peformance against Chris Byrd suggests that Emanuel Steward has taught him enough to beat Briggs. A close fight and one that I hope happens.

i agree with steward, in that briggs is much more dangerous than oleg, SL, rahman or toney... that being said, he is underserving of a title shot...

Steward is so full of it. He's supporting Wlad for looking elsewhere than unification? I say we stop supporting heavyweight title fights until they are unification bouts. Don't watch Valuev vs. Barrett or Wlad vs. Briggs, etc. This is so pathetic. Unify the belts.

Briggs and Peter have the heaviest hands that pose a threat to Wlad but I think although you all may call me nuts the south paw and sometimes slick Calvin Brock may present some problems for Wlad given the chance.He has not proved to me he is vicious enough to take Wlad out yet but he could pose an interesting boxing match given the fact they are both skilled fighters and the south paw factor.

I think thats a bad approach by steward. we all know wlad has confidence problems about his chin and steward will only make him more panicky with those statements. its better than going in over confident like he did with sanders but dont make him overly respectful of briggs or he could self destruct I'm sure he says that publicly to sell the fight and tells Wlad something totally different in private.
