Is this fight going to be aired on network television? I have Google'd the fight and have not found what channel and time it will air. Someone please enlighten me...
I will watch but I don't really know why.........Oh yeah thats right because I bet that Bates would make it to the 5th round.......since I have not seen Holyfield throw a decent Combo in at least 5 years. Retire please Holyfield you will never be Champ again sorry to break it to ya.
Fox Sports Net....and I'll be watching as well.
I don't know what I'll see; but supposedly Holy had an injured neck against Donald, which hampered his performance. I have mixed emotions concerning fighters still going this late in their careers...especially someone who's as financially well-off as Evander is; but I want to see how he performs before I really pass judgement. I remember everyone jumping all over Foreman in 1987-90 when he stopped Cooney...and then the tune really changed when he went 12 with Holyfield, of all people....talk about irony. No, I don't think Evander is as good at 43 as George was because individuals are different and age differently; and George had had 10 years away from the game and retired in his prime, essentially. Also, I think Big George's success is partially responsible for all these fighters hanging on to glory days; but not completely. Remember, Sugar Ray Robinson fought until he was 45. Bob Fitzsimmons fought until he was damn near 50...so did Archie Moore. This isn't anything new.
Foreman got credit for taking a 12 round beating.
I never knew Robinson fought till 45 or Fitsimmons, i knew Moore fought into older age.
