Since the current belt-holders all have scheduled fights on their calenders, its not likely that old Cal will get his title shot anytime soon.
After coming off of one of the most boring heavyweight fights of the year, what should Calvin do next to keep his # 1 ranking and keep his fans from getting restless? Who should he fight next? And why?
Heavyweight aficionados please comment!
I think an interesting bout would be Brock/Lyakhovich. Both guys are coming off losses, both guys will be hungry to get back to a title shot, both are still guys who could make some noise in the division. The size difference wont be much...Lyakhovich wont have to worry about Briggs-like size or power and Brock wont have to worry about Wlad-like size or power.
I'd watch it.
Your exactly right. Brock needed at least a couple more fights to gain experience and to fight someone who would "test" him without it being a complete mismatch which the Klitschko fight surely was.
Also, Brock put way too much emphasis on the fact that he was "undefeated" and let it give him a false sense of confidence.
....I do like the way he sounded post fight and he said all the right things. I thought he was 100% overated but he did show me a little something in the Wlad fight. He has a good defense and with the right game plan I could see him being competitive with the other top heavies.
Brock should fight someone who is a name but not too tough of an opponent... Personally I think he may have pushed a little too far too soon when he fought Wladimir. It was a huge step up, should've had a few more fights first.

Toney-Peter I was IMO very entertaining; I hope the rematch is just as good and ends in a KO so there's no controversy.
it wasn't a bad fight but Samuel came in abit too big and the fight kinda slacked off until the last 30 seconds of the rounds but yeah and if the rematch takes place i hope it won't be so close so there won't be any controversy like the first fight...
Go Peter!....Go Toney!
i like both fighters and it's hard to make a prediction
never knew that they didn't wanna fight..........
i looked on BOXREC and it said his next fight is with toney but it's boxrec
hopefully they do't fight first fight wasn't that great and i doubt this one will be better..
buut that's just me

Brock has stated publicly that he doesn't want to fight Sam Peter(they're friends). Besides, isn't Peter training for a rematch with Toney?

Calvin Brock should Fight Samuel Peter
that would be a great fight... and the winner(samuel Peter) gets to fight Shannon Briggs(if he will still have the title)... or maskaev

What should Brock do now post Klitschko?
IMO, Brock does not have the talent/ability to step it up at the championship level and should consider retirement from boxing and going back to banking. Its not that he's bad its just that he isn't that good and his total lack of charisma only hurts him.
Any thoughts on what Brock should do now?
Does anyone know what Ruiz is up to... does he have a fight scheduled? I'd like to see Brock fight him b/c it'd clear up two things. If Brock can't beat Ruiz, then he doesn't need a title shot right now. If Brock beats Ruiz, it would be a win over an ex-champ (who it's my understanding a lot of people thought beat Valuev sp?) and knock Ruiz down the heavyweight latter just a little more.
There's a fight in the works between Ruiz and Ruslan Chagaev, the winner to face Valuev as a mandatory.
"He should fight Fres Oquendo.Fres gave Byrd all he could handle and I felt won the fight."
That's the understatement of the year. The Byrd-Oquendo fight was the biggest robbery that I have personally seen (well, the one that sticks out in my mind the most I should say).
And while I don't think Tua is 100% washed-up, Brock should stay away from him. That's a "too much risk, no reward" fight. If Brock dances around him and wins a UD, it would be boring and everyone would be saying Tua's washed up anyway. Then there's the 50% chance that Tua catches him and he gets KOed.

A Brock/Sultan fight would be good since Sultan will fight unlike Timor and he can try to get revenge ala Klitchko style.
I like this fight for several reasons. First, I think Brock can suppress all the hype about Sultan by beating him convincly and looking good in the process. The second thing I like is that it would be kind of neat to have wins over both the Ibragimovs on your record.
luan krasniqi backed out of the WBO elimination match with tony thompson, brock should be looking to get this fight and make himself the mandatory challenger for sergei.

ding ding ding
My ideal matchup would be brock-toney
But since everybody is tied-up,I think him Vs Sultan would be a good fight to make.
Tua shouldnt even be in the running.
not ready....hell no one in the HW class is ready to be a TRUE champ...let the undefeated stud get his shot...everyone else is getting theirs./.
i know but if his people knew what they wetre doing they would have him fight someone in the top ten first then let him get a titleshot...
hell na, come on, hes not ready, if he gets a titleshot he gonna get scrubbed cause he na ready...
