As you all know he tested positive for steriods after his UD bout over John Ruiz. How long do you think he was on steriods? Was it just a one time thing or is it something he picked up awhile ago?
I just saw Toneys fight with Jirov and Ive never seen Toney so buff before and was wondering if he could have been juiced then.
Also do you think he should have been able to fight 5 months after testing positive for steriods? I honestly dont...
I do steroids (anti-inflammatory & anabolic) & there are ups & downs of course. Using juice gets you jacked & very aggressive but it's a burden on my cardiovascular system. I get winded alot easier doing cardio, hitting the bag & shadow boxing ect, ect. I feel like a fat kid. Most steroids puts on muscle (daaaaa) some can be 8-10lbs of solid muscle & other 20-35lbs. Not good for cutting weight. My anti-inflammatory are fucking awesome. They make me feel like a 18 year old again. I honestly believe James with all his injuries & the recovery process. He has like 22% body fat & just doesn't look like a anabolic steroid user. Nor does he need them he can fight his ass off. I'll add that I don't fight what so ever so no one needs to flame me for cheating. My use is a personnel choice & I love the juice
I can't say, that's the thing, maybe Wlad, it might run in the family, I heard Vitali did, maybe Mosley, but who knows cause Mosley's always looked muscular, but what i think is that just because they stopped Balco labs doesn't mean that those kind of steroids that's hard if not impossible to detect isn't still out there, & an athlete who wants the edge over the competition I doubt would find it hard to get his hands on it if he really wanted it.
I would have to agree with that, he didn't really look all that big against Ruiz & steroids is used medically for more then just getting pumped up, & like Toney said he looked like a bowling ball in that fight.
Regardless of the demise of Balco I'm sure someone else can provide any athlete with designer steroids if they really wanted it, & i'm sure no test would detect it.
Who do you think uses steroids still in boxing today?
No his excuse was that his arm was healing from a serious injury and he admittedly used a steriod cream on it. It was legally prescribed by a medical doctor. This is pretty common place for most people that have serious surgeries, but it becomes taboo for athletes. Steroids such as the ones Toney took are more about faster healing from injuries than building up big muscle mass. And I agree with the earlier post that if we are talking steroids the discussion should be about RJJ and Shane Mosley who used illegal designer steriods having nothing to do with injuries.

people talk about james toney as if hes lived and died by the damn things
what about vargas? this guy CLLLLLEARRRLY buffed up to do damage in the delahoya fight ...watch his fight with trinidad then with delahoya total fucking scalped muscles totally fucking ripped ... were as agianst trinidad he was more padded
nobody says shit about vargas ... nobody says shit about mosley or rjj hell i hear more people cry about toneys ban then when botha tested positive in which he recived how long of a ban?
i think its more or less all those people who suck it up every time toney comes within inches of becomeing hw champ and get a huge sigh of relief when something stupid happens like this
so really keep talking shit about toney when hes the champ you'll have all sorts of "he shoulda beens" to talk about
his excuse for the Ruiz fight was he was taking pain killers in training. I'm not sure i believe him.

I actually dont think he used it before ever going to heavy weight. Against Ruiz was the only time that I actually saw him as looking pretty big about the arms.
The reason for my saying this is because if your notorious for having difficulty cutting weight then it would be retarded to take steroids. However in the heavyweights making weight wasn't a requirement and he roided up for the extra power which he naturally lacks at heavy weight.
This guy is done. He is a sloppy heavy weight. I see Klitschko dominating him and knocking him out. Even Sergai Liakovich would take him out. His fights are all bore fests and i can;t wait for some one to shut his FU%&*6$. mouth
People always go and bash James Toney about his use of banned substances, but always overlook Roy Jones' steroid abuse over the years, an addiction which has crippled his career beyond repair. Roy Jones has taken in more steroids than most bodybuilders out there. Don't make threads about James Toney and try to act like Roy is some goody-good. The guy's career was built and destroyed off his steroid intake.
No proof, those are just fairy tales about Roy Jones.
