Yeah he did dominate but even from his late teens to early 20's he was beating everyone so that proves he was great. Although blown up light heavies and way past their prime x champions don't really make the best opposition.
The 90's were much better for the heavies with Holyfield reaching his peak, Foreman coming back, Douglas showing his best, moorer, Lewis, bruno, Bowe, Morrison. And Tyson wasn't as formidable by this time so he wasn't as dominant.
ummm i don't know what bruno is doing in that list. tyson wrecked him twice (although frank did hurt tyson in tha first fight as i recall)
Threads like this are supposed to be compared to other greats. Imo Tyson dominated just as good, if not better fighters than Marciano, Holmes, Louis, Dempsey. True, he didn't dominate in an era like Ali's, but it doesnt take away the fact that he's an all time great.
What's so funny about it??
Pinklon was an elite lb4lber, Tubbs one of the slickest HW's and Tucker one of the best HW prospects there's been. Neither Holyfield or Lewis were in that HW class. Riddick Bowe was, just.
so not only are you saying tubbs and pinklon thomas were better than holyfield or lewis but your also saying riddick bowe is better than lewis!! funny stuff!!
Tucker was the real deal in his prime he would give any heavcyweight f any time trouble, unfortunately his personal life prevented that from happening
tyson never had to come back in a fight, he always seemed to run through his opponents, that made him a good fighter but not a great fighter. if he had kept this up for 4 or 5 more years i could have called him great or dominant. I would have like d to see him in a fight were he wasnt expected to win. Like if he had made it out of the Douglas fight,(even with the knock down) win or loose that fight i would have giving him more credit than his normal run thru victims. he seemed to loose by KO when ever he got into a fight.
I agree.
To be considered great he needed to make a comeback in a fight. Or beaten Holyfield in the rematch.
Yet he did fight back against fighters. The first Ruddock fight comes to mind.
Ruddock opened up on him several times, and Tyson fought back, scoring an excellent knockdown and eventually stopping him.
I dont think so. Just he was so dominant he made the division look weak. He was the most dominating and most seemingly invincible fighter in history during his era.

Did Tyson dominate HW division in a weak era? True, False?
Tyson did dominate a very weak HW division, as did Marciano, the difference is that Marciano never lost, so if people Call marciano over rated and some dont even have him as a top 10 HW of all time, the real question is....
Where does Tyson land as an all time HW??"
It like Hopkins with the MW.
he dominated the division that even there where no one became famous through his year. ther was good guy like Eastman, Epochs but many other wher blow away.
