Oscar Disses Margarito

The lack of financial sense on the board has really frustrated me. A lot of the posters don't think long term. Fighting and beating Baldomir in November would be bigger for Floyd in the long run b/c to the casual fan, Baldomir = guy who beat Gatti & Zab Judah. Regardless of the quality level of Gatti & Judah. Boxing is a fucking brutal sport. If a fighter is ever in a position where he can look to maximizes his long term bottom line, go for it! Don't hesistate. We all know the big pay day is on the horizon. He just has to make it to the finish line.

Obviously part of the reason is risk-reward analysis. I am not saying Margarito isn't worthy or it wouldn't be a decent fight. Simply Floyd doesn't think this is the move that will best add to his legacy and bank account and I can see why.

But Floyd hasn't held a LEGITIMATE title since 135 which he will if he beats Baldomir. Simple as that. And read my posts before you accuse me of worship, Floyd and Margarito can fight any time in the next 2 years and both still be at their primes. Baldomir is at the end of his career as are DLH and Mosley. Don't worry as a fight fan I want to see Margarito-Mayweather and am confident it will happen. You can't deny that a Mayweather that beat DLH and Mosley will get a much bigger PPV if he fights Margarito than he will now. Bottom line why fight now for 8 when you can fight now for 5 (against Baldomir and gain a recognized title whereas if you fight Margarito now the title probably splinters) and later for 10 or more (against Margarito). WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE NOW?

I can speak personally and say even here on the west coast that fight had huge interest in the black community. Add to that its huge interest from the Hip Hop/Black Athlete community. Did anybody else read the intereview with DLH on a different site where he insulted Margarito. He said that he is not the most feared man in boxing because Ouma, Ishe Smith, and Winky will all fight him. He then goes on to say that Floyd has no obligation to fight him because Margarito hasn't proven himself. Is DLH making a ploy for his own fighters in Golden Boy to get this fight or is he afraid Floyd might get beaten and mess up a super-fight between them...thoughts? he is a business man.....market your company and its investments...he is boasting him company as well as tell margi the truth...he isnt proven himself yet and everyone in america knows so...
