So far so good.
I like the broadcast, and the announcers.
The fights TOP RANK has put together for this station look pretty solid to me.
It could very well compete with Friday Night Fights as far as quality of fights and broadcast go.
go to www.OLNtv.com to see if you have the channel in your area.
Your Thoughts???
OLN was good although for some reason the first fight kept pausing. Thompson its an OK fighter but he gets careless at times. Pavlik was hurt with a body shot in the fight and Bronco basically was to tired and gave up. A good win but not great from Pavlik.
I think your being a little too hard on Pavlik, it was obvious that it was Pavlik's fight to win, not Bronco's to lose after the first couple rounds.
That quote unquote "knockdown" was more than obviously a slip/trip on Pavlik's part.. can't say i loved the officiating the whole night.
And although past his prime i'd say, Pavlik did stop a guy that's never previously been TKO/KO'ed before in his past 54 pro fights... i think some credit is due there as well.
Rockin' i knew you said you trained with him before, what'd you think of the fight? Any chance you'll talk to Bronco?

can't believe this got pushed to the 2nd page so quick... (too many Margo, Floyd threads apparently) :(
I thought OLN/Top Rank started things off very well with this first broadcast.. the announcers were very decent considering..
Did anyone else think their 'punch stat' was not counting enough punches that they thought missed? I felt that way looking at the figures for both Thompson and Pavlik in their respective matches.
Both the two announced fights went very well IMO, and i was happy to see them broadcast an additional two more contests..
The only problem i see is a lack of consistency in that their only doing one televised live card a month i think (other than the classic fights they show in the other weeks), FNFs will always have that edge if they'd ever expect to compete. (I understand, though, that OLN is 'testing the waters' i'd assume for now.)
Overall, great show, looking forward to the future programming.. (they're showing Ali vs. Bonavena next week)
I have OLN on Direct TV, according to their schedule, their showing boxing tonight at 10pm(Los Angeles time), don't know if its repeat or not. If i am still up, i am gonna watch it.
ya that is a repeat, the first one aired at 6pm Los Angeles time.

Pavlik did great, and I too think he would be a great match for Mora.
The winner of that can then talk about Taylor, Winky, or Abraham, right now it's too early for either of them to think about fighting the Champs.
and I loved OLN Fight Night, the lighting could have been just a bit better i think, aside from that, all else was pretty good.
Maybe he should fight Mora, the "contender"...?
thats actually a fight i would watch. i would love to see that fight on the undercard of an HBO or SHOBOX fight.
And im really liking the OLN thing. their fights are much more even and much more competitive then wednesday or friday night fights.
IF they can keep up with these solid action fights with good under-cards, then i think we have found yet another boxing program to look forward to.
And considering pavlik is apparently going to be a regular, AND they have duddey coming up, there is plenty to look forward to.
What do you guys think of Pavlek? He looked pretty good, I wouldn't say great. It looks like he has good power and does good body work, but I don't think he is quite ready for the elite fighters yet. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he should have a few more fights before he were to take on a Jermaine or Winky. I think a good boxer could give him trouble. I don't want to take away from his win, but I think I would like to see him in a few more fights. What do you guys think? Maybe he could take on Abraham, but I don't think he's ready fro Jermaine yet. It seemed like he took a lot of punches as well.
this is a good fight, it looks like momentum is goin mckarts way right now. this would be a pretty big upset.
i take that back, swing the momentum over to pavlik
Pavlik and Mckart are starting to bang hard here in the 3rd.
