That doesnt make any sense, all that tells me is that he changes his strategy when nessecary. Thats the mark of ring intelligence
well Delahoya is the "Smartest" fighter out there.
typical Delahoya. Fights in the pocket against a fighter who he knew wasnt going to hurt him that night then fights scared against Quartey in his next fight. I dont mind Delahoya i just dont think he has a ring identity.

No one should care if he quit or not, he was way past his prime
I didn't say Chavez had no juevos, I was merely answering the question and elaborating. Yes, he was far past his best when he fought Oscar.

exactly, that was like his 106th fight, and had only lost 2 at that time. JCC was a great fighter and would have Murdered DLH 10 years prior to that fight.
what's happening? in this gif?

Larry referred to his old fight with Roger Mayweather....#2...and how he made Roger quit; and then asked if Oscar made him quit. While the interpreter was asking Larry's question, Chavez interrupted by yelling, "BULLSHIT!!
...fact is, Chavez did quit; but he didn't want anyone in Mexico to know that. Guess he forgot about the microphone's in the corners.
I thought that was Roy Jones Jr.
I think that's after he failed to come out for the next round against De La Hoya (quit against De La Hoya) and Merchant asked him something and he replied, "bullshit." and started saying some other stuff. The interview was done with a translator, but old man Chavez knew how to say bullshit.
i think merchant said he quit in the dlh fight or something and he got mad. not sure.
This was at the end of the second fight with DLH, Merchant asks about what made him quit or something, and then chavez yelled "bullshit" like he didint quit, saying something about how his lip or eye injury or whatever it was that was bleeding is serious and his corner encouraged it, which was total bullshit. Chavez then made a comment about how he made roger mayweather quit, while being a great win for him, doesnt really mean shit since it was chavez quitting this time. It really reflected bad on Chavez, who like many proud fighters, just couldnt get past the fact he lost.
Pernell did this at the end of the Trinidad fight also. I remember the events closely oddly enough.
