I still say there is no way that Floyd will turn down a 8mil PPV against Margarito for fighting Baldy on regular HBO for chump change.
With all that being said, I still want to make complete sure. The fact is that if Gatti wins then Floyd will have no one left to fight except for Margarito or Spinks and I think Floyd will hear enough bad things about Spinks to make him feel too dumb to pick him.
A Gatti win continues to back Floyd into a corner for the Margarito fight.
Also there have been rumors about Arum taking Margarito to Showtime but I think thats just another ploy by Arum to get the head guys at HBO to covince Floyd to take the fight. Basically saying, give us Floyd or will take Margarito somewhere else and you know he's about to start getting big fights from someone and you will lose out on all the money.
If Floyd doesnt take this fight then Ill kill him. I still think a Spinks fight is great but he should save that until Feburary and thats only if Mosley, Hatton, and Cotto turn him down 1st but he should definatly fight Margarito on Nov. 4th
Its like Kevin Iole says. The Margarito legend keeps growing by the day. Everytime Floyd turns him down, its just getting bigger and everyone is making him out to be Bernard Hopkins or someone. In the end I think it all works out better for Floyd because he will have made the fight much bigger and much more interesting by dragging it out so long. No one was super hyped about this fight at 1st but now there are so many Floyd bashers and guys buying into Margarito that it will be a huge fight.
gatti deserves all the praise he gets. he gives his all everytime he steps in that ring, thats something u cant say about every boxer now adays
Can't say that about Gatti tonight or when he fought Mayweather.
I personally feel that whereas Luiz Collazo was a nightmare style of fighter for Ricky Hatton to have his first fight at Welterweight against, I think Arturo Gatti on the otherhand is the perfect style of fighter for Hatton to make a big impression against, go back to the old tactic of absolutely pulvarizing his opponents midsection.
Regardless of the fact I like Gatti, and I'd like to see him get beat to a pulp by Ricky Hatton, I am of the opinion that Baldomir is gonna stop him.
In his last fight, Hatton looked extremely vunerable and was lucky to get the decision. If Ricky Hatton meets up with Gatti in 2007, the fight will probably be in Atlantic city with everyone in attendance rooting for Gatti. We'll see how Hatton reacts to an adverse crowd rooting against me since he has always had the crowd rooting for him.(even in Boston)
Not bothered about PBF, he'll do exactly as he pleases regardless of this result cos he's the golden child of american boxing (same as hatton, woods etc couldnt put a foot wrong here). I want gatti to win cos he's an exciting fighter and the longer he's in the upper echalons of the sport the better in my eyes. on recent form u'd go baldy to win, but i'd never bet against thunder
Lets go Gatti Lets Go *stops feet twice*...f**king expect a good fight for some reason..there both crazy and sh*t i just think it may be war at some point..excited about this one for some reason..and mosely/vargas reply *thumbs up*
hahahaha. the way mayweather did him i dont see him ever getting a superfight and people treating it seriously
Maybe "superfight" is the wrong term, but, a Gatti-Hatton fight is definitely a possibility in the future if Gatti pulls out the "w" tonight. A Hatton-Gatti fight next year would be a great "fan" fight and I would predict, be a very exciting fight to watch.
Also, Hatton, at this point in his career, would be committing suicide if he got into the ring with Mayweather. Right now, I think that Mayweather is light-years ahead of him.
hahahaha. the way mayweather did him i dont see him ever getting a superfight and people treating it seriously
even tho mayweather battered him worse then the local chippy batter fish id still think gatti is a bigger known fighter around the world
the remembers buster douglas over mike tyson
who remembers ali over berbick etc
You guys are rooting for Gatti for all the wrong reasons! :o I'm rooting for Gatti because first, I'm a fan of Gatti's and his ring heroics, and secondly, because a win tonight is gonna bring him closer to a(do a dare say) "superfight" with Ricky Hatton.

i want gatti to win, but in a way i want baldomir to win. If baldy wins, it'll be another cinderella story. this nobody gets a shot against zab judah and wins a HUGE upset. Then he goes on to beat gatti, gets his chance against mayweather, and serves the undefeated champ his first loss. how cool would that be!!!
Not a chance in hell of happening. :boxing:

Would you guys still be calling Floyd a paper champ at 147 if he takes the Baldomir fight and beats him?
I still rather see him fight Margarito for the WBO belt, even though Tony never beat the champion to obtain it, and basically won a vacated belt after Santos moved up.
In my eyes Tony is as much as a paper champ as Floyd was holding the IBF.
