Vargas was KO'd by Delahoya, Trinidad, Mosley, and was knocked down by Wilfedo Rivera. Im wondering cuz Mosley has not KO'd anyone since 2001. I know Mosley moved up in weight and had no power but, I wanted to hear the board's opinion on this.
Its decent, but I think he has very weak legs, and they go out from under him very easily.
I noticed that against Floyd, Casa and the first Castillo fight.
He has good recovery, though.
that's a good point. his skinny legs must not support his tall lanky figure
It's not weak, but it's definitely weaker since the Mayweather fight. He took good shots from Freitas and Castillo for 9 rounds, so I guess his chin is pretty good really.

funny because i always figured Corrales to have a granite chin. He always bragged after his fights how he had never been floord until the Mayweather fight. After the Mayweather fight his chin seemed to get worse?

His chin isnt weak, many other fighters have fallen in front of DLH, Mosley and Trinidad.
And how many other fighters have a resume' like his? - 28 years old, 27/28 fights(?) and has DLH, Mosley twice, Trinidad, Winky, Quartey and Castillejo.
I know he lost a couple but how many other fighters with 27 odd fights has high level names like those on board. Im not a fan of his personally but he can fight and deserves credit for what he accomplished in a reletivley short career fight wise
He has a pretty shitty chin, but look at how far he managed to go with it. Corrales is doing the same thing with a below average chin.

If your back was 100% and you took a flush shot to the chin wouldnt you take it better ? YOur legs would be stronger too which is why Vargas is more flat footed than he was before.
the guy's got a ruptured lower disc problem which causes tremendous pain which also causes leg weakness. I'm just saying a healthy back would help in absorbing punches. Think of the body shots too, not just the head shots.
Ah okay, I never thought about it like that.
Point taken.
What does your back have to do with a punch disrupting oxygen levels in your brain (which causes a knock down / out)

which just goes to show that Vargas's chin is solid. It's not the same chin as before thanks to Tito but it's still solid. Everyone has to remember his back problems have a lot to do with why he gets wobbled. He always gets up. He's never failed to make the count.

After seeing what happened to Sturm at the hands of Castillejo Vargas is Lucky he did not get stopped by him..... :D

I would say his chin is above average. He withstood a lot of punishment aganist Tito/DLH that weakned his ability to take a punch and slowed his reactions. But to say that Trinidad knocking you down is the mark of a glass jaw or below average jaw is ridiculous. Plus Vargas' always come forward style leaves him more suceptible to big punches than other fighters. I wouldn't say his chin is great though as I think that his ability to continue was often more heart than chin.
Tito ruined Vargas' career, he beat the shit out of him. It is like when announcers talk about fighters getting old right in front of you such as Morales with Pacquaio. Vargas is done with boxing unless he wants to start fighting B level fighters. He shouldnt move up, some big middleweight punchers.
This is questionable. Only because Tito and DLH have that tremendous left-hook.It can be a factor of both. Now Mosley has KO'ed him, he hasn't had a KO in years especially in these uppper weight classes. So it can be argued that he does and doesn't!
i think vargas has had a weak chin his whole career. the only thing that kept him from getting KOd so often is his heart. that and his poor quality of opposition (save for winky and quartey).
