I think he's truthful about not fighting Floyd because he didnt look good at 147 last time and he wants to see how his body responds 1st at the weight. I think he may fight Hatton or Cotto because I dont think he see's them as "huge" threats but I still think he probally feels there too much of a threat to take on in his 1st fight. They also would never fight him right now either.
I think he would definatly fight Gatti but I dont see Gatti wanting Shane at this point. Since those guys are out of the way then who would you like to see Shane fight? I dont think he would fight any tough Southpaws like Zab or Callazo in his 1st fight because its too dangerous and he doesnt have much to gain from them.
I see him fighting either Baldy, "maybe" Paul Williams, "maybe" Quintana, "maybe" Castillo, or some half way scrub.
I forgot Margarito. Shane wouldnt fight him in his 1st fight. I think he feels that the perfect fight for him is Baldy if he wins. That way he can face a guy who is tough enough to be a good tuneup but he still should win and he could win a title in his 1st fight. The problem is that if Baldy won then he would probally get a Hatton or Cotto fight instead.
This is my view of Floyd. I honestly believe that pound for pound he is the best fighter out there and his skill level is superior to Margarito, Oscar, and even Shane.
With that being said, Im not dumb. Floyd is getting to the weight class where he could be in trouble. People dont give him enough credit for what he does weight wise. I watch tapes of all these guys fight and then you put in a tape of Floyd and he looks like he is so much smaller then everyone, so for him to fight these guys that are much bigger then him says alot about how good he id and his talent.
He relisiticaly should be at 140 right now and I still think he can fairly easily make 135. Thats why none of those matches against those huge guys are certainties and espically if it were to happened at 154. I think Shane presents more problems then anyone because he is stronger and faster then both Margarito & Oscar.
I dont think anyone else at 147 has any kind of chance vs Floyd except for those 3 but again, I think they only have a chance because of size. The thing is that if Floyd wins another fight or 2 then he will get more and more use to the weight so if Shane doesnt take advantage of it now then he will have no chance later on because Floyd will have filled in more.
I totally agree with your point. I've always thought than Mosely would present PBF with problems he's never faced. Judah had the power to hurt PBF but not the ring smarts. Mosely has the speed, technique, & power to land on PBF & hurt him. I believe this fight would be tougher than any fight he's had yet & that includes JLC & a possible future fight with Margarito.
Mosley is 34 and could "grow old" overnight and we could see a mismatch with Floyd.
Couldn't agree more!
Immediately would be the right time to fight Floyd if he really wants to fight him :boxing:
I think that this will be a great match!
Mosley will have the edge in power while floyd with the overall boxing skill :boxing:
I've always thought Mosley had the best potential chance against Mayweather. The form Mosley displayed against Vargas in the rematch was very sharp but he's not going to duplicate that connect percentage against the slippery Floyd.
This leads to the next point w/ Mosley. He used to show superb body punching skills. Some of the best I've seen(when he did it).
He absolutely must bodypunch frequently against Mayweather or he'll get counterpunched to death.
The speed factor is close but Mayweather has him by a half a notch. Mayweather has a big edge in defense. He has such great perception and the reflexes to back it up.
This fight would be worth a ppv cost.
Mosley should definitely fight a tune up......I think he should fight a "descent welter" in November and then fight Floyd early next year. Margarito and Cotto would be bad choices. I think Shane would probably beat either but even if he won they would be taxing fights.
Mosley is 34 and could "grow old" overnight and we could see a mismatch with Floyd.
However, I don't think Shane will get old overnight. He lives clean and trains hard.
Because Corley conected with one lucky shot that means that all 3 of those guys will KO Floyd. :lol1: :lol1:
An example of why that doesnt work:
Jeff Lacy went the distance with Skeika, while Pemberton stopped him, does that mean Pemberton would stop Lacy?
No, Clearly not.
so you're saying styles make fights.

Alot of posters (not necessary you) have an unrealistic view of PBF; like he's unbeatable. He's a great fighter & P4P #1 right now but I think that Mosely would present some problems for PBF that he hasn't faced to date. I still would favor PBF but not by much.

So, are you insinuating that Floyd has as much POWER as Vernon? Lol, c'mon let's not get carried away here and step back into reality.
Reality: Mosely, Oscar, Tony Power >= Corley's Power? Agree?
Reality: Corley's Power = Floyd doing backward crip-walk
Soon2bReality: Floyd fights Oscar, Shane or Tony = Floyd doing the Zab Judah crip-walk!

oh my god :bottle:
Yeah that moron is on of the biggest Floyd haters on the site.
The problem is, hes not even informed, hes ignorant as hell.
You just gotta laugh at people like that sometimes.
Where do you get that from that most think Floyd will easily win? I think most people think that Shane would run through him.
I think its about even at 147 and most think he would kill Floyd at 154

I think Mosely and PBF would be a great fight & I hope it happens soon. That fight would be alot tougher for PBF than people are making it out to be. Even though PBF was able to dominate Judah; he had problems with his speed in the first 4 rounds of that fight then adjusted. PBF would be in the ring with another fast/powerful fighter so I'd like so see how he adjusts. Mosely is mentally & physically stronger than Judah & knows how to make adjustments in the fight so I don't see him having a meltdown like Judah. Mosely has only been hurt once & that was in the first Forrest where he was almost decapitated. Otherwise he's been in the ring with some big guys & has shown he has a very good beard.

i know for a fact that floyd has not dodged hatton and i have never omce said that
but i also know the mayweather fight has never been formally offered to ricky hatton for him to turn it down so you cant go saying hatton is dodging mayweather.
also hatton would be a fool to give collazo a rematch, even tho he won by a clear margin of at least 2 rounds he got rocked and rocked badly, so why risk a potential lucrative fight with mayweather by fucking up big time against collazo. dont forget collazo took it to a 70% game hatton that night and hes got the edge and its a doubt that hatton could find that bit what was missing that night cause he has big troubles with southpaw.
you must also be getting mad at floyd with all the big fights out there and hes thinking of fighting cintron.
i do beleive 120% hand on heart that mayweather will be after urkal maybe sometime early 2007. he signed a 3 fight hbo deal and it makes sense for hbo to match him up against 2 decent opposition and then but 2 of there biggest names together with the winner obviously netting a very lucrative ppv deal with hbo
I cant believe you listen to that B.S. Cintron's name has never come out Floyd's mouth one time and even Cintron's trainer Manny Steward said the same. Neither guy would take that fight right now. Floyd wants bigger fights and Cintron isnt crazy enough to step in with Floyd right now.
You say Floyd hasnt formally offered Hatton the fight but what does formally really mean? He asked his promoter and he said no. Do you mean that he hasnt written up a exact contract? Why would he do that? Thats like saying that Shane hasnt formaly turned down a fight with Floyd.
I disagree with what you said about Hatton-Callazo. Thats what people say before they ever fight a guy. Alot of guys think others are too dangerous to risk fighting them because they have no reward. You know what they do? They never fight them at all. Once you fight the guy once then all that stuff goes out the window. Spinks will never give Karmazin a rematch for obvious reasons but no one cares because we all know that Spinks will fight the top guys.
All of this really doesnt matter anyway because Ive made a thread saying that Im ok with Hatton fighting Urkal because Im sure he will fight a Elite guy in the very next fight
1st of all, you must have misread what I said about Hatton. I was upset that fans like you acted like Floyd was dodging him and Hatton wanted the fight. Then I was upset that Hatton & Grahm then always try to switchup and act like they want to fight Floyd but he doesnt want it, even though they already turned him down.
Hatton did have a tuneup already and Shane hasnt. I wasnt upset with Hatton and have made more then a few threads saying that he should fight other guys before Floyd because he isnt ready. Me and most others are mad at Hatton because he wouldnt give Callazo a rematch and his whole reason was because he rather fight better guys and he gave out a whole list of names.
Then he doesnt fight not one name on the list and ends up fighting Urkal. Thats a bitch move and you know it. If your not going to fight any of the names on your list then give Callazo the rematch he deserves. Ala, just like Shane just did with Vargas

De La Hoya would KTFO Mayweather Jr, if Floyd doesn't keep his distance.
Floyd doesnt need to keep any distance against Oscar when he is so much faster then him and can see all of Oscar's punches coming.
this is the same person the slating ricky hatton to fuck for looking bad at welter and not looking for mayweather, but now mosley is contemplating a move back to welter and wants a tune-up or 2 and your going along with it

nuthugger?? please, im just real about the ****, de la hoya is 1 of my favorite fighters and im gonna root and bet on him when he fights mayweather, but in the back of my head i know mayweather is gonna rape him, and morales is gonna fight pac again and i dont think thats the best thing for him to do, but i will root for him, im a fan, not a nuthugger. and i know theres no way in hell that mosley will beat mayweather, hes p4p for a reason.
De La Hoya would KTFO Mayweather Jr, if Floyd doesn't keep his distance.
