I just saw the movie Cinderella Man.. and to my surprise it was a really good movie.. its on HBO in demand if you havent already seen it..
for the people who seen the movie, what did u think?
Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V
I like all those movies. Part 5 was cool too, the ifight scene with Morrison was awsome, "i trusted you, i treated you like my son, and this is the thanks i get" great dialoge then their was "hey tommy i ain't heard the bell, 1 more round...1 more round" I expect part 6 to keep the tradition alive and well. When i heard they were going to make rocky 6 i thought this time it was going to be about his son becoming a boxer. I bet rocky 7 will be about his son boxing.
I didn't see the movie but I know that Jimmy Bradock was a bum. He beat Baer who didn't care about boxing anymore, and after that Joe Louis whipped his ass!
Rocky wasnt even a boxing movie. it was a fight movie. those movies were jokes. scams. travesty of shams.
But yea, i completely overlooked the rocky movies. But other then that, every boxing movie I HAVE SEEN was great.
Great White Hype is pretty bad. Don't get me wrong, I like this movie. But in the it's so bad it's good kind of way. Samual L. Jackson as Don King like promoter was gold. Damon Wayans as HEAVYWEIGHT Champion of the World is very unconvincing. Even for a comedy.
It was suppose to suck, but Samuel L. was real fu$%in funny.
Has there ever been a bad boxing movie???
Boxing is such an unpopular topic that the movies must be great in order to sell... and they usually are great.
I loved this movie. I probably wouldnt have liked it if it wasnt a true story, but the fact that all this stuff happened is unbelievable.
James J braddock made the BEST comeback ever in boxing, he went from fight bums to being heavyweight champion of the world in under 12 months!!!
The book is also great, for anyone who enjoys a good boxing book
I think that Rocky Balboa is gonna suck ass, that franchise has been going downhill since Mr. T entered the mix. I liked part V, cause it showed a little of the politics in boxing with that wannabe Don King, but it still sucked.
Cinderella MAn was a great movie, I don't know how historically accurate it was, but It was very good.
I liked Cinderalla Man quite a bit. Good stuff. The way that they potrayed Max Baer was a bit harsh. Made him into a monster for dramatic effect.

not a great movie to watch for the science (baer was portrayed too ruthless), but putting the boxing criticism aside, it is a very good movie. everyone loves rooting for the underdog, and it leaves some good closure too.
The movie was excellent and it's a great story, and best of all, it's true.
The depression era was an awful time in the U.S. People were actually starving to death.
The movie is more about the real life trials of a common man more than it is a boxing flick.
