I hate to admitt it but I haven't seen one PBF fight. I watch a lot of classics and just my favorites. But I will hit youtube up this week looking for some PBF fights.
Anyhow, what makes this guy the P4P best? I am a big DLH fan, and honeslty I think DLH is gonna send PBF back to pre-school - that is to say he will school the kid.
I'd much rather spend money on a sure classic like DLH Vs Wright or DLH Vs. Wright, or better yet DLH Vs. Wright.
Either way, who has PBF beat? Why isn't he going after known contenders rather than play this waiting game. Sounds like someone is a greedy bitch who wants at least one fat payday before he gets exposed as a pussy.
I wish boxing was about proving who is the best, not what fights make the most money.
Any thoughts? Nutthuggers welcome to discuss?
Gatti fought Floyd, did he not? Gatti wanted Floyd, bet your ass on that. He had little chance of winning, but don't come in here trying to convince people Gatti wanted no part of Floyd.
Your wrong and you must do remember how Floyd tried to fight Gatti for years. Even when it got close, he never could get a Gatti fight.
Floyd tried to get Gatti in his first fight at 140 but had to get Chop, he tried for his 2nd fight but had to get Bruseles. He also was the madatory for a long time but the WBC kept letting Gatti extend. All the writers were making articles about how HBO is letting Gatti fight guys like Leija, Branco, and Doring but wouldnt make him fight Floyd like he's supposed to because he's there big money guy.
Then the WBC forced the fight on Gatti so he had to take it or get stripped. Now I do give him credit for taking because everyone thought he would just vacate and continue to run but he didnt, but he still turned down Floyd a bunch of times before then.
It was like Hatton is doing now except it was way worse because Floyd was his mandatory
I agree that Floyd's resume is better at 130-135, than it is at 140-147.
But I don't see how you can blame Floyd for that. Can we please examine the situation?
Floyd's plan, which he stated over and over and over again was, fight Gatti at 140 on PPV, to set up a Kostya fight. Except Gatti for the life of him refused to fight Mayweather.
So Floyd had to basically force it: He fought Corely as a tune up and Brussles for as a WBC Title Eliminator to become the WBC #1 Contender, forcing Gatti to fight him or he'll be stripped. He didn't want to ACTUALLY fight Brussles.
Okay, so he finally sets up a fight with Gatti. And at the same time, Ricky Hatton bursts onto the world stage with his upset win over Kostya Tszyu. Also at this time Cotto is really starting to make some noise.
Both Ricky and Cotto come to Floyd's fight with Gatti, and they sit RINGSIDE... to try and build a potiental future fight with the winner of the fight. Except we all know what Floyd did to Gatti and Hatton NOR Cotto wanted anything to do with Mayweather after that fight. Ricky took his ass all the way back to England in a heartbeat and fought Carlos Maussa, after the performance Mayweather put on.
So instead of Floyd sitting picking ass waiting for Hatton and Cotto to decide "when they're ready," Floyd moves up to welter and schedules to fight at the time UNDISPUTED CHAMP Zab Judah. So both fighters agree to take 1 fight as a build-up towards their PPV fight. Floyd picks a slick south-paw (like Judah is) in Sharmba Mitchell, and Zab Judah selects Baldomir to look good against... except Zab being the inconsistent retard that he is, LOSES. Which screws everything up, and took a lot of the luster off of that fight. But since they were scheduled the fight anyway, and after some re-negotiation they fought.
Then Oscar beats Mayorga, and the chances of an Oscar-Floyd fight happening never seemed better... a chance where Floyd could make anywhere in the range of $15-25 million dollars. Yet at the same time Arum decides to offer Floyd $8 million to fight Margarito. Of course Floyd is going to go after the bigger money AND the bigger name AND the bigger challenge (in my opinion anyway) at that point. Yet people criticized him, and claimed he was "ducking" Margarito which is an absolute JOKE.
Which leads us to today, and we all know that the Arum offer is back on the table. So let's just see what Floyd does.
But there's no way in hell, you can blame Floyd for not fighting "elite" fighters, especially at 140, when none of them wanted to fight. At 147, Margarito was bad timing, as Floyd was clearly gunning for an Oscar fight. But since that fight is off the table, let's see what he does.

Anyway, back to the heart of your post...Floyd could've fought Margarito. Margarito was the man left out and Floyd easily could've fought him already.
Overall, it's easy to see why Floyd hasn't had a big fight at 140-147. But the fact remains that he did not have to share a ring with a faded Sharmba Mitchell. If he was going to 'challenge' himself by fighting Judah later on, then he could've just fought Margarito instead of Mitchell.
Either way, I see your point and good post overall. Floyd wanted some big fights and some are just not there for him. His resume at 140-147 may change over time. Right now it's mediocre for a number one p4p guy and that is partially his fault.
Right now Floyd is just examining his options... Given by Floyd's comments about Margarito in the chat yesterday, it seems like he's going to fight Margarito for the 8 Mill.
ring magazine makes pbf p4p #1, everybody else just nods and says ok your right!
The P4P list is a mythical list. It's just a boxing fans individual opinion.Nothing more!I don't think people follow everything that ring magazine prints. Some people like myself just feel that Floyd should be number one.
Gatti didn't give a shit about a belt. He was bout to move up in weight anyway. He fought Floyd because he wanted to test himself, period.
Floyd is number one according to RING because of the way he beat Gatti, Corley, Judah, etc. Not necessarily THAT he beat em...the WAY he did it. Also, I believe Floyd is given some retroactive credit for beating Castillo considerng how good Castillo did after he lost to Floyd, one of those losses being very controversial.
Floyd's resume at 130 is much better than it is at 140-147 though. Floyd needs to step it up soon.

this is their first fight
hahaha yeah i like the 6th round which is the first on that clip
not a very good example of trying to show castillo won because mayweather backed him up with the jab the whole time and had good ring generalship and owned him with a beautiful straight right and castillo landed like one noticable punch.
close fight though i will agree
A couple videos of PBF you can check out, since you haven't seen him fight before:
Rounds 5,6,7 of the N'dou fight
And the night when Buddy McGirt saved a life:
Thats funny as hell when you said "the night when Buddy McGirt saved a life".
I love it

OK, I am sure he is not a pussy, but we can all tell he is not about fighting the best at this stage in his career. What he supposed to fight DLH, win then fight the best?
How can you say that Oscar would kill him if you have never seen him? He's ranked #1 for a reason and its definatly not because he sucks.
I think youve been listening to the Floyd haters to much because he undoubtly has one of the best resume's out there and he's undefeated, unlike any other top fighter out there.
Also, when you mention that he's not looking to fight the best, make sure you remember what guys have turned him down.
At 130 Naz turned him down, at 135 Lazcano turned him down, at 140 Hatton, Cotto, and Freitas turned him down. He also had to wait years to get the Gatti fight and wouldve never got that until Gatti had to fight him or he wouldve been stripped. Now he thinks he has Oscar but he turns him down.
Floyd right now without hesitating would fight Hatton or Cotto, so dont act like this guy doesnt want the big fights or hasnt beaten good fighters.
His resume is much better then Winky's why your bragging about seeing the fight between him and Oscar.
Also to answer you question about how good he is, the kid's all around skill is unmatched. He's one of the fastest, if not the fastest guy in the game, he has a top 3 D, if not the best D in the game, he's the smartest fighter in the ring, he's equally good on O as he is on D, he has a great chin, he started at 130 and is about to be at 154 in a short period of time, he's actually a small guy and should still be at 140 but his skill is so high that he can move up, and he is mentaly tough.
There's a reason why even though he's supposed to be at 140, he would still be favored at 154 against a very good Oscar. He's no fluke. Winky is good but if you go by what the real pound for pound means then he wouldnt even be close to Floyd because there is no way that anyone would think that he would beat Floyd if they were the same size because Floyd can do so many more things then Winky and everything Winky can do, Floyd can do better.
I recomend you watch his fights against Genero Hernandez, Chico Corrales, N'Dou, and Gatti. I also think he did great against Zab but others think he didnt look so great
