Although Jones was 45 minutes late, he is famous for not showing up at all for press conferences. Roy Jones Jr made a startling revelation on why he lost the third fight against Antonio Tarver. Jones Jr blames his father for that loss, saying he made a conscience decision to loss. He made that choice in the fifth round of the fight. Jones says that is when he decided that he wasn't going to win the fight. Jones Jr is quoted by Tim Smith of the New York Daily at the conference as saying: "If I had won the fight my father would have gotten all the glory and he didn't deserve it. Hopkins still has a good chin though. Roy's chin was taken down a couple notches after losing the muscle and of course the subsequent KOs that occured also as a result of losing the muscle. Roy could not adapt and use Hopkins' style at age 37 anymore than Hops could use Roy's style.

Yeah way to make excuses...If he comes out and says that his confidence was shot after the two knockout losses then Id believe him. I think he has a lot more left in the tank than most of us think.

Roy Jones obviously has problems of his own that he needs to work on. If he is going to make a statement and revelation like this at this stage of his career and life, he obviously has problems that he needs to work out. He needs to stop making excuses and admit that he fell short where he needed to come up big.

Jones also said that he got put to sleep twice by Glen and Tarver because he had trouble sleeping. According to Jones, sleeping pills were not working so he decided to get KTFO so he could get a little rest.

If this is true, why did he bring back his dad to train him in the first place? Sure his dad may have got some credit but in the end it was Roy in the ring. I can't believe Roy was stupid enough to say this.
