Although I thought he won 115-113, I don't blame any judge for scoring it 114-114 or 115-113 taylor. He reacted like a biatch after the fight, and he continues to do so.
I would'nt say a cry baby but damn. Fight for 12 rounds will you! Stop thinking you won the fight. He should have continued and fought the way he did in the 12th round. Winky should have stayed in the ring and should have not left. It his fault basically doing what he did in the 12th round. He should be dissapointed in himself. It's his fault. It was a close fight tho. I had it 115-113 Taylor.
hes just wanted what he deserved, something needs to be done about the judging, it seems to me its getting worse , you would think it would get better, maybe the fights should go on till somebody is knocked out or gives up
Jermain needs to take a page from Winky's book...he doesnt need to be so damn gracious after a fight(thats 3 fights in a row he has kissed his opponents ass and his opponenets has cried)...he needs to start making his case as to why he won because a case can certainly be made.
Excellent point. I'm not really a Taylor fan. Not that I don't like him, but he hasn't blown me away. However, I did think that he beat hopkins both times and, by a decent margin, wright last saturday too. Hopkins simply started way too late in both fights. As a HUGE Hopkins fan, it was disappointing to see him lose 2 fights in a row to someone who was clearly less skilled than him. But it was his own fault.
I didn't even think about the Hopkins fights since Taylor's fight with Winky. But now that you mention it, you're correct. Taylor is always too nice after the fights. At least from my perspective, he clearly won all 3. People differ with me on this, but Taylor shouldn't be one of them!!
k-dogg:
perfect comparison there with hagler - leonard. i rarely see people call hagler a 'crybaby'. it's another reason why alot of the time a fighters legacy has alot to do with how they act outside of the ring.
Hagler was a crybaby that night.
I agree a bit here...in a close ass fight a fighter that doenst get the nod is always going to be pissed-you try fighting a back and fourth fight and then have a few shitheads decide that you dont get the title...wont make you happy.
This Winky Crybaby stuff has probably just been magnified because his oppoenent Mr. Taylor is way too fucking nice.
The post fight bitching didnt bother me none...I just wanted for once after one damn round for Winky not to raise his fucking hands, just once...I understand why Wink is mad if you watch the fight and how he raised his hands at the end of every round it would appear the Winkster thought he had won 12-0.
LMAO! I was thinking the exact same thing. Rounds that he clearly lost he would have his arms raised and I was saying wtf is he doing? The thing that made him look like such a bitch was not only did he claim he was robbed, but then he claimed he wouldn't take a rematch.

i know you just didnt go there with that tito trinidad shit all over your signature ...
winky was complaining. complaining is done with reasonable.... um, reasons. whining/crying/bitching/moaning is done with no real reason over trivial matters.
complaining is winky being upset that the fight was a draw, he felt cheated and maybe he was.
wining/crying/bitching/moaning is tarver being upset that hes on the left side of the screen, something ive never heard anybody turn into an issue.
every fighter gets mad after a close fight, i think its alright to question, but its another thing if he keeps going on and on. we will have to wait and see.
Him whining about decisions and how he gets no recognition is nothing new, though.
Which is worse: fighting the fight of your life, knowing you won, and saying nothing when three ringside officials take it away from you....or speaking up and saying "there's dirty work afoot"?
In retrospect, given the wide variety of opinions on this very board as to who won or even if the fight was close enough to be a draw, it's still not fair to judge Winky on his reaction to this particular fight which meant so much to him. This fight was his validation. Mosely could be chalked up to size and strength deferential. Tito could be chalked up in retrospect as no big deal because he'd already been exposed as a relatively one-dimensional figher. But Taylor....Taylor is the young stud, the future of the division; and possibly Winky's last chance to show all those years of fighting in obscurity were worth it...just to shed the light of his brilliance on the main stream boxing crowd. And, from his perspective...and mine....they took it away from him.
Ask any fighter how hard it is to swallow a bad decision, especially one with so much riding on it. This for the..that's THE World Middleweight Championship...and it was Winky's coming out party, so to speak. This fight...this decision, after all that work and all those years...hurt him.
After many years of being a first class act, I can excuse him of having one night where he decides to feel the pain and not hide the hurt. He had a right to be pissed....it sucks coming in second...especially to a younger kid, with fewer skills, and more exposure.
On a lesser scale, this was Hagler-Leonard all over again.
Guess who was Marvin.
Had Marvin been awarded the draw im sure he would have been OK with it.
Its that he had his championship literally robbed from him.
And Marvin was the long reigning champ, and Leonard was not.
Not the best comparison.

But you thought Winky won it by a wide decision, your in the minority, very few people thought that Winky or Taylor won it by a wide decision. I would agree with this post, if I thought Winky won the fight, I thought he lost by a close decision. Hagler is my favorite fighter of all time, I didn't think he won the fight against Leonard. Also Hagler was the champion and Winky wasn't one. I guess Taylor should've bitched about it, because he's the champion.
Oh...incidentally, just because I'm in the "minority" doesn't mean I'm not right. :D

Gracias amigo.
...that's not saying Leonard had no skill; don't misread the symbolism.
It's saying the more famous, more popular guy got the judges nod over the guy who took the long way to the top.
That sucks if you're the blue collar guy.
