Here's my problem. Everytime a fight ends, Buffer comes out quickley and announces the decision but then every once in awhile, it takes a long as time to get the cards read and its always in big, controversial fights.
The same thing happened in Rocky vs MAB. Even Lampley said, they are taking a long time with the cards. You knew something fishy was going to happened. They then called it a draw and "later" changed it to MAB.
Last Night again, they take all year and call it a draw. If you were a conspiracy theroist then you would think that they actually had a winner and changed it to a draw
Good work finding it. It can happen, but people are always yelling fix whenever anything happens. The sport is not all fixed. If any of you got on the inside of the game you would see that. Thanks for finding that, I do remember hearing about it.

Yah, I don't for a moment believe this fight was fixed. I think it was a tough fight to score and you end up with a draw. I thought Winky won, but I can see how other people would see it different, especially from different angles at ringside. I think the "fix" cry happens far too often as well. Some fights look like they were fixed, but it's more likely that it's just bad judging.
Easy enough ...

Looks like some promoter was paying dudes to take dives against Richie Melito. One of those fights was on the undercard of Holyfield vs Ruiz. I had thought it was the undercard of Holyfield's last fight, but I guess it happened in 2000.
There have been plenty of cases. I havent heard about the incident that you speak of. Find out the guys name and let me know.

Ok, I'll try to look it up. I read about it on TSN or ESPN, maybe.
Boxing is a sport that has always had a dark side. A side that the general public believes is fixed yet it is not. These rumors of fixing have been around since the beginning of the game and besides the 40's-50's have proven nothing besides Don Kings heavyweight tournament back in the day.
It is people spouting words such as yourself with little or no evidence to back it up that brings boxing down with the common person in the world. Talk to any guy IN the game who saw the fight and they will tell you that it was a close fight and a justified decision. Any time one of these ********s doesnt agree with the call of a fight they yell fix. Then their brilliant buddy runs over to this group of people yelling fix and so on and so on. The fight was not fixed. The judging was not fixed. The only thing fixed is the publics preconcieved notion that boxing is fixed. Get over it.

Did some guy just go to court for taking a dive on the undercard of Holyfield's last fight?
To be clear, I do not believe the fight was a fix. I just wanted to point out there is at least one case where someone was taken to court and lost.
I still don't know how you would give Winky the last round. All he did was throw jabs that didn't land and some straight rights that also missed. I gave it to Taylor because he was the aggressor in that round also hitting but not landing clean on Winky...
The fight was close, it was so close, it could be called either way. The only resolution was to have a rematch except Winky ran his mouth, and probably ruined his chances for a rematch.
I believe Jermain will not hold the title long. He'll be beaten.
No fix in my book, it was too close to be fixed.
I have my conspiracies on many fights, but last night I just don't know. I was actually going to put money on a draw, and many other people who gamble big money were discussing the possibility as well. It was probable to happen. You throw in two of the p4p best in the world, last two Taylor fights very close. I just don't know about it being a fixed fight. It usually takes a bit, the judges need to add up their score cards, than they need to give it to the main judge, who puts it on one sheet, than to another guy who looks it over and signs in, then to Michael Buffer. With the 50 people that rushed the ring last night, a delay is not something unexpected. Especially when its close, they double check usually.
Seriously, please grow up.
your telling me to grow up? i am just saying that anyone who couldnt see that the viewers of last nights fight had the wool pulled over thier eyes is ignorant and blind. in a few years boxing will be what big time wrestling is now. "sports entertainment". and anyone who doesnt see this needs to "grow up"
or they will end up looking like the wrestling fans that contend that it is "real".
last night was the most obvious fix i have ever seen in boxing. taylor weighed about 180 at the weigh in and lost the fight to little winky wright and they still gave him the draw. if hbo didnt think we were just sortof stupid but really stupid taylor would have gotten the ud last night. there will never be a taylor fight that isnt fixed until he gets knocked out. taylor on hbo is like white heavyweights in germany. FAKE!!!!!!
Seriously, please grow up.
There is no doubt in my mind that Wright won the fight last night!! There was not much action in the final round of the fight but the action that did take place was the few punches that Wright did throw. He was the aggressor last night and why he got the draw decision I will never know. I am about done with boxing if they keep this crap up!

I think they adjust the cards to assure a Draw sometimes if the fight is close.
The judges should not be able to converse at all during the fight so they maintain independant scorecards.
they arnt. 3 judges in 3 diffrent sides of the rings. diffrent points of views thats why so many diffrent cards
