Not that any of you care, but ESPN is usually on the money when it comes to scoring. They got both Hopkins-Taylor fights right just as a reminder.

Yeah, i guess thats fair enough.
I just think anyone who had wright winnning is delusional.
Maybe i have to watch the round again, but i just dont get it.
I'm going to watch the whole fight again, something is very odd here. Why are so many people thinking the fight was a draw or even having winky winning it? It was very clear to me Taylor won. Some close rounds definitely, but 7 of the rounds undoubtedly for Taylor. I'm coming in this with no bias, just disappointment at the end for unfair judging. I really thought there would be a lot of outrage over this decision.
Its all good.
I was semi-pleased with the draw because it avoids controversy for the most part.
I expected that they would settle the score in a rematch, but apparently not.
im sure we can all agree it was a great fight. much more action packed than any of us expected
well there goes that theory. this was one of those fights were ever body has there own winner. at least none of them got a L or a W that they clearly didnt deserve.
ill watch the fight a couple more times and do my own punch track and look at close rounds in slow motion to see what landed and what didnt.( yeah i have no life)

How so? I was much more critical of Wright while scoring and would give JT the benefit of the doubt more often than Wright.
Yeah. I gave Taylor the nod in some of the closer rounds becuase he was throwing his big combinations, even if they all werent landing.
I watched it in a bar with no sound.
So no.

i think maybe just maybe lamply calling shots that didnt land got you thinking that taylor took an extra round somewhere

114-114 a draw. I could've also score it just as easily 115-114 for Winky.

It wasnt my analysis, it was the 12th round analysis of the ESPN dude who did the round by round.
Howd u score the fight?

Wright connected with a few single shots...
Taylor flurried but nothing significant...
Both guys did nothing for long periods of time...
even round , c'mon ?

I would definitely agree with an even round because both fighers didn't do enough to win the round... There was a lot of bouncing and no punching. However to say Taylor won the round is just crazy.
absolutely. Both guys didnt really do shit. :boxing:
The problem with your analysis of the last round is it only mentions a single jab which Winky landed. He in the reality which we all live in, landed more than that.

I cant put it any better than this.
Wright comes out swinging with a series of lefts. Taylor winds to unleash his right but does not have an opening. Wright is measuring again, sticking a right jab. Wright keeps his distance this time, then throws a right-left. Wright appears more active. Taylor is waiting. Taylor gets in a combination with a minute left in the round. Taylor becomes more aggressive now. Twenty seconds left. Wright moves around not punching, as if he's won the fight. Taylor wins the round virtually by default.
What about the straight left at the end of the round when they came together in a clinch? I thought it was a good punch.

Nope. People were jaded and confused by the 12th round. Wright went from being a human tank with a high guard, moving slowly forward to corner Taylor to a boxer. Suddenly, because Wright was on his toes, moving, and just throwing his jab with 1 or 2 straight left's he somehow lost the round? Please. Taylor threw 1 flurry that most of the shots were blocked. Winky controlled the pace by dancing around and making Taylor confused.
Changing gears from how you won other rounds doesn't suddenly mean you can't win it.

He threw punches and bunches.
1 time and he missed 90% of them. i dont get it...it's not like taylor was attacking wright with any force? he sat there and watched wright jab& move for a minute and a half, then threw 1 flurry and got hit by a straight left at the end of the round. that was my take....unless the one flurry was enough to negate the rest of what wright did.
