I waited until today to watch this fight because my friend has a huge theatre system installed and I've got to say that was outright shocking.
Bernard Hopkins humiliated Antonio Tarver. I couldn't see how they gave Tarver a round.
Hopkins took away Tarver's jab, and had him completely confused. Hopkins used his slick ring savvy and made Tarver look foolish.
What a stamp on a hall of fame career. Bernard Hopkins jumps from 160 right to 175 facing the man at Lt Heavyweight and schools him. Kudos to Bernard, who is now without a doubt one of the greatest fighters of his generation and an All Time Great.
I didn't catch the interviews right after the decision was read. What did each of them say?
Tarver was certainly

talking all kinds of shit prefight of course...now what's he got to say...anybody (Hopkins) who is my age, schoolin' someone younger with less experience is always pretty to see...I have never given Hopkins the respect I now believe he deserves...He made a hige statement Saturday night...cant wait to see what he does next....
That may be true, but Hops barely throws much, and would not body Roy around like he did the slow footed Tarver. Hops is not a strong lightheavy at 41, although he is tough. His punches are nothing amazing as far as power goes.
Neither are the punches of Glenn Johnson, who left Roy unconscious.

Hops would not kill Roy. Roy is not Tarver. Roy has a style that makes it hard for Hops to hit him. Roy does not stand straight up like Tarver.
Would I favor Hops to win? Yes. But that's only because Roy has not aged as well as Hops, for obvious reasons.
I was really hoping he'd blame the weight, but I guess he's not that stupid.
How did little Diego ***o take it?
Humble pie indeed.
lol yeah, he's been pretty silent

Why are you laughing out loud?
You might be right Joe would have demanded the fight be at 168 and Nard would have demanded he get an 80-20 split or a guaranteed 10 million.
Like I said earlier they are both extrememly difficult to make a fight with...apparently you are not seeing this from Hopkins.
Please dont laugh out loud-I dont like it I would never...how you say LOL while you were posting...it just wouldnt be right.
LOL at you being unable to post about Hopkins without mentioning Joe Calzaghe. :p
Told Ya ni**as B- Hop was gonna dig in that ass, from it was signed. I love seeing Tarvers Bitch ass, lookin FOOLISH, COMPLETELY FOOLISH. Life dosen't get any better, Unless Hop stretched him, but since the money is there,in Tarvers case because where else is he gonna go for a money fight Maybe RJ can find some balls and do it. I doubt it, just wishfull thinking.
lol, Calzaghe's backyard at 168 isn't even close to half way, and you KNOW that's what he would have demanded.

I though it was a 3 fight deal...first fight was against Harry Simon the third fight was Joe...on Showtime for reportedly around 10-12 millions bucks.
Its that easy to make a fight with Hopkins (especially post Tito)...if you want him you got him huh?
Both men are tough to deal with...meat me have way sweatheart.

Joe could have fought him a long time ago if he'd made an effort to make a name for himself before earlier this year.
I don't think Joe ever had any interest in fighting Tarver. He may have some after seeing that last night, but you're telling me he was demanding Johnson come down to 168 but that he would have moved to 175 to fight Tarver?
Forgetabout it.
It's good that you've given props, but we still have a problem with every Hopkins post you make having made mention of Calzaghe.
We're almost there though! :)

I had a feeling about 2 days before the fight that Hopkins technique would be more effective at Light HW, he was a little more active but it was the same gameplan, counter & move, The counter were more powerful & he was moving more like as MiddleWeight which made it real hard for Tarver to keep up. I wonder why that didn't cross anyones mind before the fight(& we call ourselves boxing fans)?
Yeah those are some props but man oh man I would love to see my boy get a crack at him.
Should Joe go after Tarver or is there any point to it now?

That's more like it, it's starting to sound a bit more like props! ;)

You can make a case Nard won every round.
He humiliated a guy that was in his prime and was the undisputed lightheavy weight champ of the world...he made Tarver look so ordinary that the Hall of Fame and the name Antonio Tarver may never be mentioned again...
Tarver's career could have been ruined last night!

Yah, in the post fight he said he felt tired, slow and that he didn't have much power ... so he didn't exactly blame the weight directly, but I think he was hoping people would do it for him. I think he wanted people to stand up for him the way they stood up for Roy Jones after his first fight with Tarver.
It would be nice to see you give some credit to him for that astonishing preformance.
You've always been a Hopkins hater and that was far and away a triumphant note to end his career on.
From 160 to the man at 175 and utterly embarassing him.
Give some props where they're due scappy ol pal.
