If anyone has P4P questions from that era they want answered, let me know & I'll look it up for you.Great find! Not quite a pot of gold, what with gold priced outrageously these days, but close.:) Thanks for offering to share. I'm sure many more than us who already are enjoying your trove will soon join in taking you up on that offer. Generous of you.:)
Be interesting to compare the rankings from Ring to KO, NAB.
Post up all of The Ring's ranks in those years, you fucker.
End of year rankings, as in Dec?
What was Ike Quarteys ranking in 1996 after he beat Oba Carr?
EDIT: by the way that quote in your sig is priceless.Coincidentally, as I read your post, I had the "Holiday Issue", aka, "Special Expanded Issue!" for 1996 in front of me with "Tyson-Holyfield FINALLY" emblazoned on the cover. Checked pages 14 and 15 where The Ring listed its ratings for the "period ended September 12, 1996".
It says for Welterweights Ike was number 3 trailing only Pernell (#1) and Tito (#2). Oba Carr was at #4.
But, I'm not sure this is what you mean because Quartey and Carr did not meet until a month later (October).
Cool mags. If you run across that huge ad that Michalczewski took out begging Jones for a fight, please scan it for Bozo. I forget when it was.. 99 or 00, anyone? :)
