If Ike Ikeabuchi was still boxing do you think he would have been the heavyweight champion of the world? I personally think he had the skills to beat the best guys in the division today but his mental illness stopped him from reaching his fullest potential. I think the Ike that destroyed Chris Byrd and battled 12 hard rounds with Tua would have beat Wladimar Klitosko and Brewster.
He would've destroyed all, power, chin, speed + pretty good skills. Check this video against a young Bird. In my opinion Ike destroyed Tua for good, Tua was never the same after his fight with Ike, Tua slowed down after his fight with Ike.

That was a great shot! The sound of that punch is horrible. Chris Byrd even said that Ike would have walk through the entire division, including Lennox Lewis. It sucks that we'll never know.
you think he can punch harder than taylor? doubt it. king is soliman's nickname man. soliman deserved at least a draw, and if he had any power he would have gotten wright out of there. taylor punches ten times harder than soliman and is much too big for winky and his featherfists to hold off. look at wright after the fight, he systematically took an ass beating.
That is true. Wright doesnt have much for power. His last 11 fights have gone the distance except for 1. I dont think Taylor will knock him out , but he will probably lose by dec. He took Soliman lightly , he will step it up against Taylor.
The fact that Solimon through a million punches per round probably made it closer than it was but yes Wrights punches were more crisp and accurate. Wright got caught up fighting Solimans type of fight. Had he stayed outside he probably would have looked better.
Wright proved the point that he didin't have to run away from the wild brawler, and could simply use his superior ring intelligence and defensive abilities to overcome the whirlwind.
Of course you have the point that Soliman did throw many punches, and that might skew the interest towards scoring the fight more in his favor.
But I think scoring the fight for Soliman is ridiculous. That's just my opinion, but the punches he threw and landed were interesting and many of them landed flush, but they weren't really effective at all.

I had the fight scored 8 rounds to 3 with 1 round even.
Soliman let his hands go, and most of the punches were not hard enough to even bother Wright. Soliman's ribcage took a beating, and he was systematically beaten and out of his leauge.
The punches Wright landed were harder and they were accurate. Soliman was stumbling around, off balance and throwing arm punches from every single angle that ended up in Wright's mitt.

Outclassed him ? Winky was in a real fight that night. Did you happen to see his face after ? He won a very close fight.

Yeah that was Sam Soliman, and Winky totally outclassed him.

Ike Ibeabuchi is so fucking overrated it's not even funny.
Basing off a styles made fight with Tua and a destruction of a featherfisted boxer, he's already a HOF fighter.
Some people have gone to the stupidest extent, and claimed he was unbeatable and would knock Ali out without problems.
I think it's pretty ridiculous and extremely unwarranted.

For sure. If Ike had not gone to prison he would have someday dominated the heavyweight div and one day hold a belt. I guess he left fans wondering wut could have been.
what other wins does he have to go off? ike never had a chance to really fight the best i honestly do think he had the chin skills power and speed to beat anybody in the division in 1999 and i think he would most likely still be champ today
I agree... He had it all in the ring! Outside was another story.
i think your jus goin off those 2 wins
