I used to be a big Forrest fan, but the way he disappeared after Mayorga (and it wasn't ALL injuries) has me believing he is a defeated fighter. Quartey will win a decision, but I hope Forrest finds a way to win.
I'm taking my boy Ike. He's been fighting much better competition since his comeback and he's fought more in the last couple of years.
I think Quartey will survive a couple of rough spots and he will take the fight with his jab and activity. He looked much better against Bojorquez than he did in his previous fight with Phillips so I believe he's shaking off the ring rust. I don't think that's just because Bojo was a better matchup for him either. He just looked more comfortable and fluid with his punches and movements.
This is a big toss up , could go either way but if Quartey can press the fight and throw a lot more other than the Jab and the over hand right then he should have this in the bag. Watch for Vernon to lead with his head as he comes from the Evander Holyfield school of using your head as a fist. :boxing:
This should be a very good fight.I like Ike to probably win a UD but I think it could go either way depending on which man is more serious about their comeback. :boxing:
I agree. Sometimes I think about what might have been if Ike wouldn’t have gotten robbed in the De La Hoya fight. And then all that time off after the Vargas fight…
