Round 1: Barrera
Round 2: Barrera
Round 3: rocky
Round 4: barrera
Round 5: barrera
round 6: barrera
round 7: barrera
round 8: rocky
Round 9: draw or for rocky, steward had it for barrera though
round 10: rocky
round 11:barrera
round 12: draw
AT MOST rocky won 5 rounds if u give him all the draw rounds and such, if those judges knew how to score right there wouldnt be any shady scoring because barrera shoulda got the nod in the first place, that draw was a robbery to barrera more then anything, im glad he got the nod in the end, how peeps have it scored for rocky is beyond me a draw is just robbing a great champ like barrera of a well deserved victory and being nice to rocky, if theres a rematch barrera will beat rocky worse then he did this time
I didn't think Juarez lost "all" the early rounds. I had Barrera at 5-3 through 8 rounds. Most were close, with Barrera getting some close nods due to his jab that didn't do as much relative damage. But, I also remember that Juarez did do some real damage to Barrera early on, and that as the fight went on the damage only got worse for Barrera. Barrera wasn't "boxing" as much later as he was in the earlier part of the fight when he won more of the rounds. I had Juarez winning more of the later rounds.
I had no real problem with it being called a draw, but to call it a draw and then go back and change it after a so-called "scoring addition" just wreaks, especially when you see the scorecard tally, which clearly showed a *scorecard change* rather than an error. The card itself (posted in another thread here) originally showed a "10-9" 12th round from Morita for Juarez and then totaled it correctly as a "114" fight total for Barrera. There was no "scoring addition" error there. Then, someone went back and changed the "9" to a "10" for Barrera in the 12th round on Morita's card, which necessitated changing the fight total for Barrera from "114" to a "115". To me, it looks like a clear *scoring change*, not an error or miscalculation.
Well i had Barrera clearly winning, but it was a rough rough fight. Juarez is real strong, i think he would have a chance against Pac. Pac would come in throwing punches, not moving and jabbing like Barrera. He would come in and they would trade. Juarez has showed a decent chin, Pac has been KO'd before. So Pac and Juarez would be trading and i think it could go either way. Barrera didnt look spectacular last night but i do think he won. Juarez looked good too, i think he made a naem for himself but i really dont see him winning and ive watched the fight 3 times.
well, if little jabs are what matters to one in boxing, then I could see how it could go to Barrera. But, to me, boxing is more than throwing a lot of little jabs that really don't do that much damage.
It's a FIGHT. Who did the most damage??

It's very hard to say that Barrera "won" that fight. Of course, if you work for HBO and have a lot of money down on it, then perhaps you can.
Even after the fight and in the press conference, most thought Juarez had won.

thanks for the info, they both got their faces bruised but barreras face looks like it took the worse of it.
i don't see how barrera is going to go on without giving rocky a rematch, especially when the majority of the media felt rocky won.

Even after the fight and in the press conference, most thought Juarez had won.
A visibly beat up Barrera then made his appearance, wearing a baseball cap pulled down far over his face. Barrera stated, “Boxing is a sport of appreciation. The main thing is that you—the fans and the media—are happy with what was a tremendous fight.”
...
Juarez then asked the crowd who they thought won the fight. When the crowd overwhelmingly and jubilantly responded that they thought Juarez won the fight, the press conference was seemingly cut short, as De La Hoya intervened and thanked the fighters and everyone in attendance.
Overall, the sentiment of the crowd seemed to be that Juarez had been deprived of a close but hard fought victory over the immensely popular Barrera. It just made matters worse that there was a problem with the scoring and that even the tabulation sheet prepared by the Commission seemed to have possibly first had the fight a draw and then after numerous revisions, a split decision was the final outcome.

It depends how you scored aggresiveness (which went to Rocky for most of the fight), and whether you thought Rocky's power punches were enough to overcome Barreras jabbing in some of the rounds.
o, and barrera would never fight a young rocky again. to risky. He would probably lose. Rocky is going to get much better by there next fight, Barrera will get worse if anything.
why would barerra get worse? and barerra dominated the fight between round 4-7 how cna u suggest rocky won any of those? those were barerras strongest roudns of the fight

round 4 could have gone either way, and round 12 was rockies maybe. I also could see Rocky winning rounds 6 or 7.
I had it 115-113 barrera, but i could really see it going rocky's way if that judge liked agressiveness and hard punches
that's why boxing is a subjective sport. I had it to Rocky by a round but there we go. It's a shame - maybe we should go back to the old rules of fight til there's a knockout. Rocky and Barrera need to get it on again though, that's for sure
