after watching that again. it makes me want hatton to beaqt the shit outa maywether.
Too bad Hatton wanted nothing to do with Floyd after watching that demolition live.
Compubox
Total punches
Gatti 41 of 125, 17%
Mayweather 168 of 295, 57%
Power shots
Gatti 10 of 56, 18%
Mayweather 115 of 183, 63%.
Uhm, Mayweather landed over 11x the power shots than Gatti. If that's not domination then I don't know what is.
** Suggestion:
Remove Floyds used jock strap from your face and watch the first 3 rounds. Gatti makes Floyd miss a bunch and is very competitive.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA gatti landed like 7 power punches maybe like 12 hahahahahaa. shut up seriously. complete domination there is no debate please stop
Listen to what Roger said to Floyd after round 6 right before McGirt informed the ref that Gatti would not be coming out for round 7. Thank goodness McGirt knew when enough was enough because round 7 could have really looked bad given Roger's advice
Yeah, I think Roger was being a bit unreasonable there. "Don't goto the body anymore." Wow, did he want Floyd to kill Gatti or something? I agree thank god the fight was stopped when it was. That 6th round was disguistingly brutal.
Please tell me you're joking right? Connecting on 60% of your power shots is "missing?"
and out landing your opponent in the first 3 rounds 70-15 in power shots is competitive???
** Ah, hah, another compuhoax sniffer!
I never said Gatti was winning. I said he was competitive and made Floyd miss many times and made him cautious the first 3 rounds. Unlike you yahoos, Floyd had enough brains to know Gatti could hurt him and chose to start slowly before turning up the heat.

Wmute I was thinking the same thing, if he wasn't on his game then I don't know what is and I didn't see Gatti making PBF miss. I thought that's why Gatti said he's too quick after the fight.

Maybe, but it's not like Gatti's never been down in a fight before. What it came down to is exactly what Gatti said post-fight, Mayweather was just too fast for him. He was too skilled as well, but the biggest factor in that fight was the speed of Mayweather. Gatti couldn't find him at all, and that's why he could never get his punches off. Even had he bullrushed Mayweather he would have still been too slow, and Mayweather would pepper him with shots the whole way in, and Gatti still would have been TKO'ed; he was simply overmatched...
I actually think that Wilson Rodriguez gave Gatti a worse beating, in a way, but Rodriguez wasn't fast enough to keep away forever. That was a great come from behind victory. That kind of thing is just not possible against Mayweather unless you land a lucky shot.
No shit, right? Floyd's hit percentage was unreal in that fight. Gatti couldn't do anything. The only difference in the first few rounds is that Gatti didn't just stand there and take it, he tried running a bit, but he realized he was outmatched. I'm not a fan of Gatti or anything, but I really felt bad for him watching that. It was brutal, not as brutal as Lacy's beating was though.

I completely agree with all of this. I think Gatti was capable of doing better, but I still think it would not have been close and would have ended the same way. Watching that fight, I knew Gatti was going to lose badly, but I like him, so I was hoping he'd do a bit more. I knew his only chance was a lucky shot, and about all he could do was hang in there as long as possible. People say he should have rushed Mayweather, but I think the fight would have ended quicker. I think the way he started the first round was the way he should have kept fighting, because it could have given the impression that he was at least in the fight, somewhat. In the end, I just dislike it when people say Gatti is shit because of the way he lost that fight. He didn't have to give Mayweather that fight, and he could have found a way out of that fight much earlier. Mayweather is going to go down as one of the best fighters in the last twenty years, so losing to him is nothin' to be ashamed of. Chuvalo couldn't beat Foreman, Ali, Frazier or Patterson, but I don't see anyone calling him shit. Everyone in boxing gives him respect.
i didnt watch that video.. i saw the fight twice.. it almost brought me to tears.. gatti definately went in with the wrong strategy.. he tryed to box with him. he should've brawled and keep throwing barrages of punches.. if u watch his body language during the intro.. he was a nervious wreck.. i wont ever watch that fight again.. its not funny either..

Honestly, I thought Gatti was capable of doing better. He didn't win the first round, but he looked ok up until the knockdown. Gatti should have been paying attention, instead of complaining to the ref, and once he got knocked down, he seemed to completely lose his nerve. You could tell he became tense right away after getting knocked down in the first round. Doesn't really matter though, because it would have been a Mayweather victory anyway, but I think Gatti was capable of a little bit more.

About LondonRingRules, I've read a few posts by him before, big time Hatton/Calzaghe fan, it would seem, and a total PBF hater. Who said they wanted tune-ups before fighting PBF? Oh, that's right, it was Hatton. Who has the names of at least four world-class fighters on their resume? Right, right, Floyd does, not Hatton. Who's beaten the better fighters? Floyd, that's right. Manfredy, Coralles, Chavez, Castillo, and Judah were his best competitors, Coralles, Chavez and Castillo moreso, and Judah wasn't really expected to win, but Manfredy is no slouch (at least, he wasn't before that fight with a 25-2 record). Granted, Floyd hasn't done a whole lot these past couple of years, but he's done about as much as Hatton and we should be seeing some major fights from him soon, now that his name is more out there, and he's a bit more of a draw.
One more thing, if/when Hatton and Pretty Boy fight, Hatton's gonna be brutalized much in the same way that Gatti was. Hatton struggled with Callazo, and Callazo (Colazzo? not sure how to spell his name properly) is half the fighter Floyd is. Hatton would be well-advised to never fight Floyd. Same goes for Cotto, we'll see how he does against a slick fighter soon, though, assuming that when he fights Malignaggi. If he can handle him, he might have a shot fighting Floyd, because he's a good, slick fighter like Floyd, but not really on Floyd's level.

** Brutal? Floyd never got on his game until the 4th. The first 3 rounds were milquetoast except for Floyd's 2 deliberate fouls in the first that he was never warned or penalized for. If Gatti didn't swell up like a balloon maybe down the stretch it might have become brutal.
Gatti fought the wrong strategy. He should've taken Floyd to the ropes early and mauled him and make him work. As it was Gatti boxed decently and made Floyd miss many shots for the 1st three rounds, but it wasn't winning him the fight or weakening Floyd. Floyd is way overrated, so just remember, you heard it here first.
