Unless Marco Antonio Barrera ages badly by this Saturday night, he will brutally pound Rocky Juarez.
Juarez is a nice, solid fighter who can bang.....but he needs to be a whole lot more than that to hope to hang with Barrera.
Maybe Marco was in his physical prime when he fought Kennedy but that was not the best version of Barerra we have seen...
Barerra vs. Salud, Hamed and Sanchez is the best three fight stretch of his career.
i agree, those 3 fights he had in a row, he just looked unbeatable and prior to his second fight with junior jones, against salud, this was the first time that people saw barrera use his boxing skills, using a triple jab, a right hand, making angles, his ring generalship, thats the best boxing performance ive seen barrera give when he fought salud.
i think barrera will win this fight but this fight is no walk in the park, barrera will need to bring his A game on saturday, im goin with a barrera win on points or late stoppage, but it wouldnt surprise me if barrera hit the canvas in route to winning this fight.
plus i think if barrera wins this fight, he will be fightin pacman in november so theres the incentive for barrera to win, he needs to avenge that loss. after he fights pacman again, win or lose i can see him tryin to get a world title at 135lbs and have a few more fights then retire.
Agreed. He had become a much more rounded fighter by that stretch.
I sat ringside for his bout against Enriquie Sanchez (who was a very solid pro) and he absolutely took Sanchez apart...and it was done entirely from the outside.
I think some folks dont realize just how fast Barerra's hands are-he has some of the fastest hands in the sport.
Poor Enrique Sanchez, after the fight was stopped he had a busted rib, 2 broken cheekbones and a broken nose...all of this done by a guy who just boxed him from the outside-it was an amazing performance.
SF is the "Hard" capital of the world. ;)
well playa...that shit is moved down here too but I'm talking boxing...Rocky is from that H so I must ride with him...
I hope barrera puts the whooping of a lifetime on Juarez.....I can't stand Juarez.I don't think tho that it is a grave mis-match, Unless Barrera performs like he has in years past but for some reason I get the feeling he is on the down slide although I hope not. :boxing:
Dont bet your bottom dollar playa...Boyz from that Htown go hard in the paint..it will be a real brawl...
i think people forget who MAB really is, he will own rocky just like any other guy, MAB is an elite fighter and wont get shown up by anything less, barrera is a smart guy after what happened to him with pac he wont underestimate anyone

Holy Shit! Rey Boom Boom Bautista is in the un-televised undercard portion of tomorrow's fight!
I've never seen him fight but I heard he was an exciting fighter to watch.Luckly, I have a chance to go to Staple Center to watch him!
im waiting with antisipation for ROCKY JUAREZ V. MANNY PACQUIAO! This is the fight i would like to see rocky face by the end of this year or early next year if morales doesn't fight him.
although i want to see rocky vs pacman ... i am confident that MAB will win over his younger foe...
I think it all depends on MAB...it all depnds on Marco.
If MAB fights like he fought against Morales (willing to trade) then he will be in for a very tough fight against a monster puncher.
Barerra is smarter then this though right?
The smart bet would be that Barerra realizes Rock's only shot is the big left hand therefore he will play it safe for as long as he has to piling up points and maybe even a late round stoppage.
Its all up to MAB-its as simple as that-Team Juarez better hope MArco is in a real fighting mood because if he isnt Rock will lose 10 rounds on the scorecards...minimum.
i belive the fight is for barrera title, i may be wrong though.

i think rocky is way over his head in this. the only chance he has is to fight the ABSOLUTE PERFECT FIGHT, that's the only way.
he needs more world class fight experience. it'd be nice if he could make a good showing of himself and take advantage of barrera's lay off, but i think he's has been moved into this position too fast too soon.
i think before he fights someone like barrera he should compile some wins over guys like peden, st. clair, molitor, nagy, first before he steps up his competition against a legend like barrera. i'm not saying that he has to fight these exact guys but he should have some wins over guys like that before a major fight like this.
it's like vargas or reid going in against trinidad, or diaz vs castillo, the experience level is too great between the two.
i'd like to see rocky pull the upset, but like i said he is going to have to fight the perfect fight with zero mistakes, and that's tough to do, unless barrera is overlooking rocky like he did against pacquiao, which honestly i don't think he'll ever do that again......
I think Juarez is going to lose a one sided fight but he can land something big. He has that kind of power I just don't think it will happen.
I got Barrera by stoppage but I hope Juarez pulls it out after all he is from Houston.
