At crunch time and huge fight nobody is better than DLH... DLH has fought the best in every division he has moved up on. period..... I see the fight a boring and one-sided boxing lesson.
DLH is not going to be coersed into a brawl like Forrest, but outbox and totally outclass Mayorga. Alot of people on this site are down on DLH because of his last few fight, but those fight were just too heavy for him.... He is by far the best welter/Jr. middleweight of my time and by many of yours.
i think DLH is undercover prepared. i don't think he'll be effected by the layoff, although i always say staying active is the key to winning fights. but i think DLH is well prepared to fight this guy like he never had any time off.
there is no reason for DLH to trade with Mayorga why get hit at all when you can avoid getting hit and beat up your opponent "all night long" (lionel richie style).
he's going to box his ass off, i think Mayorga is taylor made for DLH style, but on the flip side to that coin Mayorga is going to make the fight exciting. DLH has been getting hit more cleanly lately, especially when he tries to do the shoulder roll defense. the shoulder roll is for guys who use their natural reflexes for defense, i.e. Mayweather Jr., Roy Jones Jr., James Toney, Pernell Whitaker, guys that have a natural defense, i really think that the shoulder roll isnt effective when it's tought, guys tend to get hit more and more cleanly that try to adapt that style when it isnt theirs in the first place.
that being said mayorga has a punchers chance and he needs to make it a inside rough fight......the only thing about mayorga's power is that DLH has a great chin.... it ought to be a good fight, but i see DLH winning by UD......
