I don't know who can be more annoying than that Paul Maliganni guy. Just looking at him annoys me. I hope Cotto puts him to sleep. Who do you find annoying?
I agree, he has size, reach, strength...everything he needs but a set of balls. He is VERY annoying to watch.
Scary, Harrison one day might become the first castrated heavyweight champ!
Well.....on a moral biasis, one could argue that if a fighter died in the ring, the opponent inflicting the lethal blows is not to blame as both are fully aware of the risks involved. However, why should one man die and another lose his career?
Juesus Chavez is a case in point. Chavez is world champ but because of his fight with Johnston people arr more concerned with his ring temperment after his last fight than his defending the title. A taboo subject certainly. Its all down to the individual fighter but my point stands. lennox Lewis i think would be prone to inflating his ego and thank God his career passed without major incident!
Both are aware of the dangers, so neither is to blame if they fought clean..but the hell of having to live with that, it would be too much for me I think. :(
Naturally, as a big fan, I'd like to believe it'd have an enormous impact on him....if only because of his relegious beliefs, and the fact that it was because of him. Like you said, we'll never know, and I'm glad of that. Any fighter dying because of the time in the ring is tragic...I dont think I could ever fight again if I was in that situation.

Yes, i am happy for Lewis' sake he wasn`t involved in a ring fatality ( his opponent ). I don`t know how lewis would hve haddled it, no one will ever i guess, but if lewis had have adopted his usual attitude it could have ruined his appeal had he ignored a tradgic occurance over his victory celebration!

oh okay, I see where youre coming from with that. I guess I just chalked all that up to being upset about losing. And, you could say he was right, in a way, about lucky punch, since he got his revenge both times. But, all that aside, he shouldnt have belittled his opponets...that I definately agree with. The sport is just too dangerous and way too much can happen for that kind of attitude.

What it was i think is Lewis' refusal to give credit to his opponent, even after losing. When Rahman and mcCall beat him he screamed luckly punch etc... This took away the credit attained from his victors and people were pissed over it. He called Rahman
`Has-been` and after beating Klitscko claimed Klit was on the way out anyway. These comments people may agree with but it was the inflection in Lewis' voice, like any praise he may bestow was forced and only done because it was good manners to do so.
People couldn't relate to him. He refused to accept fault for his losses and the fans caught on to this and unfortunately for him probably effected his standing as an all time great.

wow, I keep hearing that from so many people, and the weird thing is, conceit/ego are my biggest pet peeves EVER! Yet, I never picked that up from him  I never detected anything more than the usual bluster, bravado and big talk that is associated with boxers, but apparently a hell of alot of other fans did. I cant imagine how I missed it, because 9 out of the 10 boxers I dislike, thats why.

You poor thing....don't get me wrong, lennox is a great boxer, top ten heavy of all time. But his ego gets in the way of his greatness.

hahahaha I'm a Lennox fan :p .

Thats the point Tracy. Many boxers have sold themselves on being ass holes. Mayorga, Chris Eubank, Tyson to a certain extent, sold themsleves as a hated and it but bums on sits because people pay just as much to see a fighter lose as to win. i myself would by a lennox lewis PPV because i thought him big headed and wanted to see him lose. Thankfully i saw his two loses live and enjoyed spending every penny!
hahahaha I'm a Lennox fan :p I will give mayo this much, I had planned to wait on the replay, but guess I'll be suckered into the ppv fee after all.
true enough..I know I'll be watching in hopes of seeing him get that ass kicked, if nothing else :D

Ya I know that you don't like Mayorga, but you can't deny that he knows how to sell a fight. :D

- roy jones: his commentary alone annoys me. he does have occasional insights, but also many delusional ones as well. i remember him commenting on wladimir klitschko saying "he better stay away from me". when i heard that, i thought to myself 'yeah, roy, because your such a feared and established heavyweight, right?' i also am annoyed by his little dances or mockery that he occasionally does in the ring - that shit won't buy you rounds in my book. i'm glad tarver chin checked his ass into the next decade.
- lennox lewis: one word - pompous. few people are as arrogant as he was. i remember reading an interview last year where he said that the current division is mostly lacking talent and charisma. he might be partially right, but what makes him think that when he was fighting there was a wealth of talented fighters out there. if there was, he would've been in more competitive fights and likely wouldn't have been looked at as the dominant force in the few years he was on top of the division. he really annoyed me by not rematching vitali klitschko, the only fighter who really handled lewis to the extent that nobody could've known who would've won in a rematch. seems like the only times lewis were involved in rematches were when he lossed the first time. to ll's credit, atleast he did say vitali had the necessary ability to reign as he did. and now lennox is doing hbo commentary, that will suck for me as i'm really sick of him glorifying himself the way he does.
- james toney: has definitely got to be one of the most annoying fighters on the planet. and this chubby bastard is quite vocal about his racism towards white/european fighters. so, when the hell is he going to step up and fight one? there's 3 white/european belt holders right now, so shouldn't he have some good motivation to get in line to get a shot at one of these titles? what about the white/european fighters without a belt? personally, i'm not even sure that he could be ibragimov or krasniqi. his style these days is a bit boring as well. he is quite crafty, and throws some nice clean combos, but has started to lay on the ropes a lot and just wait for his opponent to come to him. really, that part of his game is boring, and it has become a big part of his game. that leads me to this question - when the fuck is a fighter going to not follow him to the ropes? a heavyweight fighter could really embarress him if he were to just stand in the center of the ring and try to make toney look like a coward if he didn't step up into the middle pf the ring to trade punches. from a true heavyweight, especially one with decent power, he would literally fly across the ring from a punch. oh wait, that's already happened in the rahman fight, just rahman should've done it more often.
It's problably my fault but I really dislike the fact that Freitas cries after every victory. I feel like I'm watching Olympic figure skating.
Dude, I only saw him cry after the fight with Ranchero.
That was because his dad died the day before the fight.

Tarver, can you imagine how pissed off he must have been when johnson KOed jones too (after beating him up for 9 rounds)
LOL for a few months he must have thought "I beat superman"

He's such an annoying prick.
1. His looks.
2. The way he showboats....and then enters the ring and fights like a female.
3. The length of his neck, and the way he plays to the crowd after running the opposite direction of his opponent.
He's a disgrace to the sport.
