Allan Green are just a fucking overrated loser,he will never beat any fighter i SMW top 30.Allan Green best opponent was Jaidon Codrington(World Rank 53)
And Green is nothing more than the next SMW hype from the states. First Lacy now Green. One is without boxing skills and the other has the weakest chin of SMW
Green was getting caught by the left hand out all night. Lets not forget people, 10 days ago this guy was cutting lawns. Green needs to take on Manfredo Jr...but no way is he ready for Lacy, Calzaghe.
Green's opponent was not even supposed to be in the ring. You could tell from round one that he was scared and all hed did was back up until he caught Green with that good punch. Green's chin was exposed and this is a guy who wasnts to fight Calzaghe...........................Green probably coulnd't make it pass Lacy.
Sometimes i can't stand boxing forums for this exact reason. Boxing people are some of the worst fans and spectators. If a guy wins and wins and is never tested you question him. But if a guy makes a mistake gets tested then bounces back and knocks the guy's head off you say he was exposed. Come on guys lets take a second and think before we make stupid ass comments. It's stupid he got caught with a hard shot by a guy that was once his sparring partner. The most important thing is that he got back up and knocked him the fuk out.
C'mon, man...I agree with what you are saying to a degree, but it doesnt apply in this instance. First of all, how was this opponent a 'test' for Green? We're talking about a former sparring partner who came in with 3 losses on late notice. I agree that he showed a lot of heart to get up and KO the guy, especially since the way he went down looked bad. But what I think what people here are saying is that he was exposed in the fact that he took his opponent lightly. Whether you are a fighter or a real knowledgeable or hardcore fan, you know that in this sport the last thing you should do is overlook your opponent. He came in, thinking it would be a cakewalk, his hands low. If he thinks he's invincible, he has been 'exposed'. I like Green and I think he could be world champ someday, but what I think was 'exposed' last night was his attitude towards his opponent. I didnt see any technique problems that someone can exploit; and Green is known to take criticism positively and work on his flaws to his advantage. Hopefully, he learned that there is no guaranteed win in the sport, and that no matter who is across from him in the ring, he needs to bring his A game.
I thought it was funny.I've never been a fan of Green. He boxed safe everytime I seen him except for the Codrington fight. He kept his hands low the entire fight until he got caught and he paid for it.Watching the 3rd round made me think of what he did to Jaidon.Maybe this will make him a better fighter because he does have a lot of natural talent fast hand and power and he is a good boxer. He did show a lot of heart in this fight to be badly hurt and dropped and come back to ko McCrary.
Everybody gets caught and its better to get caught early in your career then later....... look at RJJ
i think rjj's career went just fine without him getting caught and seriously in trouble.
Green definately gained some valuable experience in this fight. Like someone else says, it happens to everybody. Reminds me of Cotto vs Corley except Miguel wasnt floored.
I see a lot of upside in GREEN, and if he can keep that right hand up i dont really see to many SMW beating him except maybe the Joe Cs and a few others but i wouldnt mind seeing him fight KESSLER simply becuz MIK is young and to me can be what Joe C could of been but will need to start now!
PS ALLEN IS STILL DTA NIGGA AND HIM BEING ROCKED WAS DEFINTLY A PLUS FOR HIM

First, exposed is an overused term that is blanketing for weaknesses and certain moments. If anything got "exposed," it is that Green is subsceptible to being caught flush and not being ready for it. Considering McCrary's previous low quality of opposition, it's something to think about. It raises questions about Green, but his next fights will provide answers that aren't there yet.
Snippets of post-fight interview of Green, typed as well as possible:
"Me and Donnie mcCrary spent so many rounds in the gym sparring together. He had a sneaky left hook.
"I was trying to keep the up."
"I was thinking I was going to finish the job. The same thing happened when I was an amateur in the national golden gloves."
"I made a mistake. I had a feeling it would happen. I'm glad it happened now ."
"That's where it starts off at, with fundamentals. A house can't stand without a foundation. You can only get so far on talent for so long." ... he mentions Roy Jones Jr. and Muhammad Ali as lacking basic fundamentals ... wow, that's bluster.
"I was hurt, but I knew the best thing for me was to go down. I was aware what was going on. That's why i got right back up."
"He just caught me with a good shot that I did not see."
"I'd have tied him up "
On Calzaghe fight: "I'm not sure. I'm still ready. Donnie Mccrary's a great fighter. I fought a sparring partner tonight. If still wants the fight, we can do it. I can guarantee you it won't be the same thing."
"I won't do that again."
Damn, people talk too fast, and I type quickly.

So very true. Now he knows what it feels like to get hurt. If it happens again, he won't panic. This fight was good for him.

....O.K. I can buy that. Can you buy that all this fighting Calzonie bullshit should be put on a back burner?
.....He is back in control but still looks vulnerable to possibly get caught again. Man this guy was overated.

True, but think about how overrated codrington was!
Gotta give it to both fighters, Mccrery i think his name is- he came to fight and he floored Green but i also think he let an opportunity sleep away when he hurt him.
And Green showed heart coming back after being hurt like that.
