What's next for Chris Byrd?

I reckon its time for him to hang up the gloves, take it easy and have a fun retirement.

He should become a commentator! He speaks clearly enough and still has his witts! He would be great on HBO or Showtime.

its going to be super tough for him to get fights People say that he is not marketable, but in todays HW picture there are not many people who are. In regards to HBO he is an OK name and will get another title shot, very soon.

He shouldnt retire. He never had the style to beat Wlad. Ive been saying this is the worst matchup he could ever make. He doestn have the power to intimidate him. He cant use his speed as well. He can still win some fights and I think he will. Where's Irvine and Aikman? Alone they were superstars, but together they formed the most dominant passer-reciever-rusher combo in football. I dare say ever. :p On topic... I think Byrd has a few fights left in him. Please stop with the "over the top" and "past his prime" crap. Look at nearly all the greats. They fought well into their late thirties. Some into their fourties, so there are still a few fights left in Byrd. :boxing:

I don't see any reason for Byrd to retire. So what? I don't like him personally? that's no reason. He's a skilled guy with a huge heart that lost a fight to the best heavyweight on earth. Big deal. He's still better than 9/10 guys in the division. He could be a king at cruisers and actually would probably be able score KOs at that weight.

He's 35 and will probably never surpass what he's already accomplished in his boxing career. IMO - he did very well and has nothing left to prove in boxing. Should he retire or continue boxing? A retirement is an option. I believe Chris can give us a couple of interesting fights though. I think cruisers division is interesting now, and Chris could fight with Bell or Mormeck -- that'll be a very good fight. I have a lot of respect for Chris. He's got a good family too.

he should retire IMO. I aint hatin on his game but the truth is that, chasing a belt now would be difficult fo him cuz he's past his peak time. He should retire and let the new catz thug it out. Byrd seems happy and filthy rich anyways.
